Good series, a little too close for comfort! I like Robidas.

Chelios has looked like garbage lately. Good change.

It's great that you're here to discuss what will likely be a Pens/Wings match-up, but how about someone posts a thread on your boards about LGW's open-door policy. It seems that whatever dicatators run your forum have frozen registrations so that we're not able to do the same.

I have an $800 payday in Vegas if the Wings win the cup..Not sure what the odds are now, but I placed my bet in the Winter when they were 4:1

Meh, I'm as much of a hockey purist as they come, but they need a new barn. Half of the crowd can't even make it back to their seats before the game is 5 mins into the next period because half of the bathrooms have 3 stalls, and one door for both entry/exit. Leaving a game resembles something out of an old western movie during a stampede scene; concourses are twice as wide in most arenas, not to mention the booths set up right in the middle, and on the outside of the herd of people trying to get out. The logistics of The Joe are garbage, too- from parking to the exits leading into parking, it's just a nightmare all-around. As far as knowing the ins and outs of the building, every home team knows their arena- didn't seem to hurt Anaheim/Nashville, etc. Who cares what the arena is called? I'd rather go to a game at Softsoap Arena and be comfortable than not want to drink, and having to go to the bathroom DURING the period so that I could make it back to my seat for the 2nd half of the season.

That pretty much sums it up. This blog is a snoozer.

 what this guy fails to mention is the timing of goals from secondary scorers. this blog awakens an old, tired, act.

Was probably a Wings fan, which makes it awesome.

You have to be a RWW member to buy these, correct?

Next to Zetterberg..
-
My thoughts exactly. Crosby will get his cups, but not this year. I think this will definitely be a learning experience for them moving into the future; OR I could be wrong..Crosby could shock the world and begin his legacy as the greatest player to ever play the game..doubt that will happen this year though.

I think that something else you're ignoring about the Pens is that your best defenseman is basically a forward. The Pens D is going to get WORKED by Detroit. If defenders like Foote, Robidas, Zubov, etc can't handle Dats, Z, and the boys, an inexperienced Pens defensive unit is going to get mowed down by them. You're not in the Eastern Conference anymore.
-
Datsyuk and Zetterberg will shut down your first line. Add Lidstrom, Rafalski, Stuart, and Kronwall into the mix, and you ARE in for a big surprise. The Eastern Conference is weak as it is, so any team that would have come out of the West probably would have shell-shocked the Pens. Crosby/Malkin and the boys are going to get so frustrated that their team is going to get held to 15 shots per game, that they're going to start taking stupid penalties, and the Wings will feast. Write that in stone.
-
I actually missed that the first time. Detroit has an absolutely HUGE edge in defense as far as personnel goes, and their system is far and away better than Pittsburgh. I think that it will frustrate the Pens' young guys, and lead to PP time for Detroit...let's do this!
-
I think the key to this series will be experience; especially in goal. Fleury WILL be a great goalie, but it's going to be pretty hard for him to handle all of the pressure of the SCF. One key aspect that you left out is the PK, which I'd definitely give the edge to Detroit. Also, don't forget that the Pens are one of the worst faceoff teams in the post-season. I think it will be an exciting series, but I think that Detroit's veterans will force the Pens into playing our game..It's not going to be as easy for Crosby/Malkin to dance around against the Wings when they don't have the puck nearly as much. Here's to a great series!

I liked Schneider when he was here, but Rafalski is a HUGE upgrade..and he can hit the net!
-
nah, it would still be june..
-
Who knows. Doesn't Holland? It doesn't seem like a blood clot would be something that they would try to hide at first. Either you have it, or you don't. It's not something that the other team would benefit from knowing about, like a concussion, or bad shoulder..Weird.
-
At this point, I'd believe Ken Holland over someone posting on a message board. Maybe it is true, but until it's announced, there's no reason to freak out.
-
Let's all calm down until something official comes out.
-
Yet another old, worn-out subject. If you go to ANY fan forum (Colorado, Dallas, Anaheim, etc.) they ALL think that the Versus announcers hate their team. Give it a rest!
-
EXACTLY! Finally, someone with some common sense. Who cares whether he's suspended or not? Osgood wasn't injured, and the Wings lead the series 2-0. Sweep them and get revenge by sending the Stars to their Thursday morning tee times.
