Even if it's an (e5)?
-
Eventually somebody is going to have to go somewhere. They're not going to be able to afford Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Stall, and others under the cap.
-
What the hell are you smoking? Can you honestly say that Hasek did not play like a $2.5 million dollar goaltender this season? He played like a top-tier goalie, and $2.5 mill is nowhere near top-tier money. Get a grip.

Holland: Prices for Bertuzzi, Schneider & Markov high
KronwallCRUNCH replied to kindlwillbegreat's topic in General
Schneider would be a Norris finalist on another team. Look at the numbers that he puts up in a secondary role, just imagine if he were out there in every key situation, or prime pp situation like Lidstrom is. I'm not saying that he is as good defensively as Nick, but I am saying that he would be a #1 guy on most squads. Hamrlik? Please tell me that you're joking- he is a slight upgrade over Lilja, with a better shot. I'm not even going to waste my time on commenting on Pressing and Stuart. Bottom line: Yeah, you could replace him with lesser players, but with your own argument look at what happened when Lebda, Samuelsson, etc started taking his spot on the point. This team isn't in a rebuild mode, and Schneider is the most important piece to their success outside of a goaltender; that was proven this postseason. -

Yeah, we saw how replaceable he was on the PP during the playoffs.... -
Toronto. How a team can have such a huge fanbase and so little success is beyond me. Also, the Avs have been pretty bad in recent years- look at some of the players that thye've dealt/let go, and where they're at now because of it.

I have a friend that made the trip to the draft, he said that Holland was having lengthy discussions with both NYI and NJ. Just thought I'd pass it along.

If we're going to pay out, Schneider and Bert have the most upside- Bert is a risk though. -
If he works really hard on his turnovers and coasting, he may have a chance. Oh, Samuelsson also shoots the puck and creates far too many chances to be the next Lang.
-
LIKE OMG KENNY, PULL THE TRIGGER AND MAKE A DEAL FOR GIGGY!!
-
He is lazy, terrible without the puck, and had more turnovers than Jon Kitna. In the words of Nsync(?) BYE BYE BYE.

I am a spambot. Nanu Nanu.

OK, but that has nothing to do with Datsyuk. Every team has players to re-sign. Nobody said that it's going to get us out of a ton, but it's still 3.8 million dollars, AND the cap is increasing. It helps, especially when you're losing very expensive dead weight.
-
Not really- cap increase.
-
Two words: Robert Lang.
-
I agree. Draper is an awesome two-way player, and that's great, but he still catches heat here for not putting the puck in the net. I see Fil being a better goal scorer than Drapes, but not by much. Goals make people happy- Huds makes me happy lol.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, slug boy. Look out Broadway, here comes Lang!

Just curious, how many boxes and seats were sold in Nashville prior to the Preds moving in? I know you're pissed that your team could be on the way out, but come on. The argument that everyone is already a Leafs or Sabres fan is a bunk one. Think in terms of people who were already hockey fans in Nashville before the Preds existed- you could have made the same argument; of course people in Hamilton are fans of other teams, THEY DON'T HAVE ONE OF THEIR OWN! I doubt that the majority of them drive 2+ hours to go to T.O. and Buffalo to see games live (on a regular basis)- attendance in Hamilton would be great.
-
Schneider is a Norris finalist if he plays on a team without Lidstrom.
-
Sorry, but while I do think Fil is a better all-around player, he does not have the finishing ability that Hudler does- from the outside, or in the crease.
-
oh, i'm dumb. completely missed the whole "quad city" part in the first post.
-
what is the O for? am i missing something?
-
No mention of getting rid of teams in places that don't care about them? Interesting.

True. I'd be willing to bet that of the majority of the people calling for Ozzie to be the #1 goalie were teenage girls when he won the Stanley Cup as a starter.
