And a game misconduct for delay of game.
-
Yet another examples of officials making a call because of the result of a hit. HOW is that interference?!
-
Emerick said that Datsyuk will be a game time decision, and if he doesn't play he'll be replaced by Leino. Also, Malts in/Abdelkader out.

Signed Jersey from 2003 - Recognize Signature?

Relax, she's from Chicago. It's rigged. http://www.myspace.com/spainy

Another thread reminded me of this gem. Does anyone remember in 2007, in the midst of Datsyuk playoff disappearances, people were calling for him to be traded everywhere and anywhere? There was a rumor from one of the NHL "insider" bloggers that had him going to Florida for Olesz and fans here were all about it. I tried searching for it, but it's gone, gone, gone.

Nice. Finally a post from you that makes sense!

Babcock constantly talks about how amazed he is with Cheli during press conferences and post-game interviews. If a coach doesn't like a player, you usually know it. See: Sean Avery/Aaron Ward.

This fan will have lots of time to send even more emails once his team is bounced.

So you're a fan of a team that the Swedes beat in the Olympics?
-
Especially when he had 71 pts in the regular season, and is averaging a point every other game in the playoffs.
-
And no, I mean 71 pts in 74 games. Meaning he plays full seasons- Gaborik doesnt.
-
Oh give me a break. That's not what people were saying when we got eliminated in '07 on good 'ol LGW. All of the rest of the goonies on these boards (that are mirror images of you with Hossa) wanted Datsyuk GONE. There were even rumors of trading him for Olesz, and people were CLAMMERING for the deal to get done. It's a neverending cycle here.
-
You really think so? Wouldn't the Datsyuk signing defy that logic? He was a playoff ghost and was being run out of town on these boards, too.
-
BTW, I'd much rather have 71 pts in 74 games.
-
HAHA. You'd rather have Gaborik, a guy who's played more than 66 games only 4 times out of his 8 years in the league? It's clear that you have some kind of strange vendetta against Hossa; did he refuse to take a picture with you or something? $7 mill for a guy that spends more time in the doctor's office than on the ice; now there's a great move!

Again, can we, just for once, pretend that we know something about the positional aspects of hockey as well as the roles of different players? In the defensive zone, a winger shouldn't be in the corners digging for pucks. In the offensive zone, a sniper shouldn't be in the corners digging for pucks. He should be in the slot, or along the wall cycling the puck; just like Hossa does. See how many games the Wings win if Hossa is down in the corners in either end; if he did what you asked, you wouldn't even be "complimenting" him on backchecking because he'd be so far behind the play.
-
But what do you expect? The Wings depth guys to score 3 goals per game, and then have Hossa/Datsyuk/Z score another 3 on top of that? Come on, this is the playoffs. A couple of years ago people were complaining that our depth guys didn't contribute; now they are, we're winning, and people are still whining. It'll never end.
-
Hossa does the same thing as Holmstrom? Datsyuk is a center, he belongs in the corners stealing pucks, Hossa doesn't. Your initial post was complaining that Hossa is our highest paid sniper and isn't scoring goals. Following that train of thought, why do you want him 'throwing hits in the defensive zone?' My God, man. You're all over the place.
-
You're saying that Hossa isn't the top defender on his line when he's either playing with Pavel Datsyuk or Henrik Zetterberg. Put Hossa on most other lines in the league, and he's the best defender on his line, as well as the most explosive offensively. Why does he have to be the "best" on his line? If they're getting the job done and winning games, it's a null point. So now you're comparing Hossa, a winger, to Kronwall/Stuart (defensemen,) and Datsyuk (center) on how they "battle along the boards?" If Hossa is down in the corner and behind the net battling for pucks, there's a bigger problem there. Luckily, he doesn't take your advice and stays in position and backchecks as hard as he rushes. Lastly, comparing Hossa to Ovechkin? I don't even know where to start.
