Yep, I'd say that if you're not going to call every single punch that takes place througout the course of a game, giving a goalie (with a cage) a love tap isn't a big deal. It's so funny that once someone does something to a goaltender it becomes a cardinal sin.

Whatever. Everyone wants to complain about Avery's antics, but how many dozens of punches to the head are thrown every night in the NHL? If anything, a goalie is more protected than anyone.

If we would have come into the season with last year's roster, and added Hossa at the deadline, people would have been jumping for joy. The thrill of the deadline will soon be gone, but the Wings will remain.

Although the deadline has already passed- The way that Franzen played down the stretch and in the playoffs last year, no way. There's no replacing a performance like that- lets see if he can do it again. If so, no way you let him go; ever.

I'm not "upset," I think most people (outside of Canada) would agree with me that his nationalistic delusions are entertaining, but not accurate. My point was not about whether or not it was funny, because it was. It's about his constant bashing of Euros, and his constant fear that somebody else is taking Canada's game away. Do you think if...oh, I don't know...Joe Sakic would have done that (and swung the same way) Cherry would have been mocking him? No, he would have probably made a remark about leaving fighting to other guys, but he would have ranted about how he's such a great Canadian captain, etc etc. Same old song and dance. Have you ever been to a game in Toronto/MTL? The suits are ten times worse than Detroit has ever seen. Bottom line, some people are just never happy.

Either way, who cares? I'd guess that the person that started this thread is A) The stereotypical "biggest fan ever" that doesn't think anyone else is as big of a fan as he is, so he needs to tell them how to attend a game, or B) A jealous troll from a rival city trying to stir the pot. The fact that he stated that he/she is a season ticketholder leads me to believe that choice A is the case. Same kind of guy that gets mad if a 65-year-old man isn't screaming as loud as he can the entire game. Watch the game and mind your own business.
