Fantastic game, guys. Looked really sharp. Let's keep up the effort and stay positive. Ozzie looking like Jaques Plante out there, and Norris caliber defensive corps. 81-1 season coming up.

Don't point out that the D looks bad, and has hung Ozzie out to dry. You might get hit with the Panic button graphic everyone is so fond on. It's just magic and bad luck why the Wings are losing. They are playing the game they want to play, it's just they're rolling for initiative is failing. Also, Ozzie's saving throws are all failing as well. Hopefully the luck will change. I'm sure that's what Babcock is saying in the locker room.

Right, because the Wings just magically started losing. It's divine intervention, their fate has already been written, so don't point out anything bad that happened. Why do they even play the games if the result is already cast in stone?

Woo...someone above said the team was at midseason form. That really seems to be the case. Score 3 unanswered, then sit back, give up bad goals, and get behind. They'll start skating in the 3rd, let's just hope they're only down by 1 still when that happens.

ok, now everyone is just looking lazy in the D zone. wake up people!
-
Are they chanting "Ooooos gooooood?"
-
Ozzie and the D looking like last year.
-
Looking really sloppy here in the 2nd. Everyone on both sides with bad passes and overskating the puck.

I believe the proper term for most of this thread is "butthurt."

Is it just me, or does he look like Bettman in this pic?

True, true.

I remember when they showed Gaborik's life story in that M. Night Shammalammadingdong movie with Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson playing Gaborik. Is Gaborik Czech for Glass?

Jeff Finger Hey, they paid him 4 mil a year. In all seriousness, I will have to go with Malkin

That's a damn shame. One of the best nicknames ever. How about The Captain? I didn't see that one there either.

ESPN didn't want the NHL, or wanted the NHL to pay them, if I remember correctly. Not really the best situation for the league.

I have to go with Datsyuk, simply because my definition of best player includes more than just being exciting to watch, and firing the puck from anywhere on the ice. OV scores alot of goals, but he takes an awful lot of shots, doesn't pass much, and doesn't play D. Dats is just an overall better player. Wish we could see OV and Dats play a little one on one.

Never want to hear anything like this. Makes you want to go hug your kids if you have any. RIP baby Theodore, and prayers are with the family.

This is ridiculous, slamming Hudler for his comments. Should he really make comments like Manny Legace about how he sucks, and doesn't deserve to play for the Wings? I would think that every professional athlete would consider himself a leader and want the opportunity to show what they can do. That's kind of the nature of the beast. Would Hudler have thrived or wilted if he was put on the 2nd line for an extended period? Noone can say. Babcock's dislike for Hudler is well known, and I haven't seen anyone dispute that. So, if you have a coach that won't give you a chance, what else are you supposed to say. I guarantee you a big reason for going to Russia is the chance to play top line minutes, and show what he can do. At that price point, you'd think leadership will be part of the bargain as well. I'm sure the money didn't hurt either. But really, he didn't say anything bad at all. He just expressed his excitement at finally getting out from under the frustration he's had to deal with.

Never get them though.

Ummm...guys. Bettman works FOR the BOG. He is basically their mouthpiece. If you had bothered to read the recent articles, the BOG decided Balsille was not fit. Bettman does what the BOG tell him to do. So, failing team in Phoenix is the BOG fault, not Bettman. Also, I love the fact that because there have been a few lousy owners in the NHL over the past 20 years that they are all "can't pay their bills and get caught up in corruption." Balsille killed his chances himself. He didn't want to play by the rules, so he doesn't get his team. Simple as that.

The NHL needs an Ed Hochuli.
