I think we should try for Bouwmeester or Jack MF Johnson. Hell, when is Chara's contract up?
-
Win it for Cory Cross.

If a team wins the Cup 2 years in a row, though, back to back, you can't give the hardware to the other team. Yes, Giguere won it when the Ducks lost the Cup, but that was because he WAS the Ducks for almost the whole playoffs. If Crosby wasn't playing, Malkin would have been wearing the Zetterberg blanket, and would have been invisible as well. He's only benefitting as the less dangerous of a two headed monster. Now, if Malkin comes out tomorrow night and has an awesome game, putting the Pens on his shoulders, and willing them into a Game 7, then he will probably win the Smythe regardless of the results.

Babcock better be turning over some tables and destroying the gatorade machine during the intermission. This is terribly sad. Let's come back from this one. The Wings can be Cinderella tonight!

Pierre Mcguire is a weird dude- U guys see this yet? LOL

Boner pill joke FTW. -
When everyone is taking crosschecks and elbows to the head on every shift, what do you expect?
-
Look at all that interference. Sheesh. The Pens fans want to talk about the clutch and grab era. Yikes.

Hossa had to make a choice last year, just like he will at the end of this season. Hopefully, after this season, the "I'm 30 and haven't won a Cup yet," won't be a factor. I think that if Hossa had had a choice at to where he went at the trade deadline last season, he probably wouldn't have picked Pittsburgh. But he was traded there, and as a good hockey guy, played his heart out, and carried the team to the brink of winning the Cup. After getting so close, he had to look around and see if Pittsburgh was the right place for him. We have no idea what went on in the locker room, we don't know what his relationship with Thierren was like, we don't have any clue what his thought process was. He may have looked at the team, and decided that the coaching philosophy was wrong, he didn't like who he was playing with, or what have you. Basically, he was a rental for Pitts, and may be a rental for the Wings.

Mooommm...the Wings are breathing on Crosby again, and *obstructing* him by skating backwards in front of him.
-
i am seeing an empty podium. did i already miss it?
-
Nah, they will waive it. Malsby will be complete on Tuesday.
-
It *was* message sending. "Stop stifling Sidney, you brute!"
-
ALLIGATOR makes it 3-1 for the 2nd night in a row.
-
Someone needs to take that crying Crosby .gif and make one of Pierre to go with it.
-
Pierre crying more and more about the Hossa "slash" they showed it again twice, and there was nothing flagrant about that. looks like crappy stick quality to me.
-
Well sure it does. His stick broke because of Hossa's subtle interference.
-
Pierre got pwnt.
-
There have been tons of those on both sides. Stop crying and making excuses. If the refs are gonna swallow the whistles, then you have to deal with the consequences. Don't worry though, I'm sure the reffing will tilt towards the Pens on Tuesday.
-
When did Thierren join the NBC broadcast team? Geeze, I've never heard so much "Detroit inteferes" crap.
-
crosby out vs Alligator and Maltby...scary.
-
Chris Kuntz very classy there. Trying to move the pile?
-
Blast it all Stewie. Bad TO, then bad rebound control by Ozzie. I'm still not worried.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa
drwscc replied to ComradeWasabi's topic in General
My feeling is, Hossa shoudl win his Cup this year (if the Hockey Gods will it) and then move on to a huge deal with the Kings or Oilers, the deals he passed up to sign here. I just don't see that Holland would sacrifice our depth and the future of this team for one player. Since Conklin has already priced himself out of range, it looks like we're going with Ozzie/Howard as the tandem next year, barring any changes. So say we sign Hossa, and lose Hudler, Sammy, Leino, Kopay, etc, and are still right up against the cap. The Ozzie gets hurt right before the trade deadline, and is out for the season. Are we really comfortable hitting the playoffs with a Howard/Larsson tandem? The cap wiggle room is necessary, and I don't think Holland is going to make any move that would jeopardize the team. Hossa, it's been real, but good luck in your future endeavors. -
Haha, I heard that. Priceless. I have to hand it to them for shutting that guy down when he started blathering about understanding Chicago's frustration that the Wings get all the calls.
