Even if Nashville wins their last two, it would require St Louis or Anaheim to lose both of their last two to get Nashville in the playoffs. Also, Nasvhill plays Detroit tonight, so hopefully their playoff hopes will die this evening with a loss.

Yeah, but they should react like the old timers did. You take the hit, and take note of who hit ya. Then you get them back later in the game. I don't recall Vladdy having to fight anyone when he laid that world famous hip check on Claude Lemieux. I don't remember Rob Blake having to fight a whole ton after his awesome hip checks. Maybe it's just me though.

Has anyone ever scored 40 goals for 4 different teams? I'm sure he will get back for 40 on the Canucks or Kings next year. Definitely an amazing player, and I wish there was some way we could keep him, but, as I've felt from the start, he's a one and done player for us. Maybe Kenny can make a deal with him that he goes somewhere else next year, and then when it's time to resign Lids and some other guys retire, he can come back.

Avery is such a good pest, he pisses off fans from teams that aren't even involved in the game. He is being Sean Avery. That's what he does. It wasn't injurious, it was designed to get under the skin of the opposition. That's what a pest does. That's what Maltby does. At least Avery will back it up occasionally.

That type of player is hard to come by these days, though, because GMs all realize how valuable they are.

GS&T, there was no Crosby bashing at all in this thread until you came in and started whining about all the Crosby hate. All of the posts were about how cool it was that they are not liking each other, which is going to help the rivalry, and how if they actually fought, Sid would get his ass handed to him. I didn't see any bashing at all. I'm tired of the Crosby bashing too, which is why I avoid the threads that are obviously for that. I don't like the kid, but I don't go out of my way to post about him. I did in this thread, because I think those two being rivals really ups the excitement level. EDIT - My bad. I went back and read all the posts before mine, and they are all trash talking. I should have read to the end of all the lines.

The little snippet of HTM I caught this morning on the way to work featured Pierre Maguire talking about how the whole Caps team were being mean to Crosby for the whole game. He was saying stuff like "Most of the time, when players are all fresh in the first period, there is alot of chirping going on, but this was another level. They were talking to Sid throughout the whole game." The Caps had a plan to take advantage of Sid's temper, and they succeeded.

That was a very entertaining and exciting game. AO is amazing, and a very dynamic player. They need to televise more Caps games.
