If this actually happens, I will be amazed. I have been firmly in the camp of 1 year and done from the beginning, and I'm still not convinced, but this definitely does look good for at least keeping Hossa.

I still rock my Lapointe jersey (probably because it's the only real jersey I have) proudly. I miss that guy. He would have never left for that huge payday if Yzerman hadn't been hurt that year, and he got moved up. I was definitely sad to see him go.

It's about time people start coming around. Huds may be small, but he gets things done with whatever ice time he is given. The Wings are lucky to have a 3rd liner as good as he is. Kudos, Rex!

All other things being equal (which they're not) you would have to go with Hossa every time. He is the more dominant, explosive player. In real life, where their salary demands are different, and there is a cap to contend with, you'd like to keep Hossa, but may not be able to. Hell, there's a chance we lose them both, similar to how Pittsburgh jettisoned Ryan Malone to make room for Hossa, and then Hossa came here instead.

Well, then they will just say "See? Fighting isn't doing any good. No reason for us to have it in the game." It's win-win for the people who want fighting gone, and frankly, I think it's pathetic.

There is no need for Schneider at this point. I enjoyed his time with the team, but his salary and skillset are not really what the Wings need at this point.

Hossa.

He sure did spark them to victory, right? wooooo! I like Downey just as much as the next guy, but he's not the missing ingredient. Ozzie needs to get his "groove" back, and the D needs to step it up. They're scoring enough goals, just giving up too many. Not even a line of Aaron Downeys can fix that.

Problem is, if Ozzie has a problem, it results in pucks in the net. There's noone there to bail him out. If Kronwall or Chelios have a problem, the goalie is supposed to be there to bail him out. That's not happening this season. The D is lacking, but the goaltending is not as stellar as it has been in the past, so instead of a "whew, that was close" it's ending up as a goal.

Based on that article where Lids talked about it, he said he knew about the game suspension deal, but that he and Dats decided that the rest/treatment was worth the risk. What everyone is mad about is the last minute loophole that was added for Crosby, which didn't leave enough time for Lids and Dats to make it there, even if they had wanted to. They would have both sat out anyway, but it would have been nice to have that option up front, instead of making the Crosby rule at the last minute to avoid having to suspend the posterboy.

I know I sure don't, and I'm not all the way bald, just have my hair cut on a 0. The hat material and the seams and such are very annoying. I can't wear baseball caps anymore because I can't stand the way they feel. Now get me a beanie, and I'm all for it. But no baseball caps, and especially no "trucker" hats with the mesh in the back.

Seems to me like all the players need to do is decline from the beginning, instead of accepting in good faith, getting injured, and then being punished for being injured. Woo...can't wait for the next star studded all star game with any player that will accept the invitation to play.

That's WHY Crosby is going. Bettman called him up and said "Sweetie, you have to at least come to Montreal so you don't get suspended. Those mean old Red Wingers guys are gonna get suspended though, and if you don't come, I'd have to suspend you too, Snookums."

it's not really a box. at least, it hasn't been when we did it. They send you a log book, and have you write down what you're watching, with the channel and such. It also has you write down what time you actually watch the things you DVR. It's pretty cool. Wish they would send it again, so I could scrawl "NOT NHL ALL STAR GAME" across all the timeslots.
