Need to get some of the Southern or Western teams involved. They'll never be able to host, and having these teams that will *never* be able to participate has the potential to alienate their fans. Maybe DET/DAL, DET/SJS, or DET LAK. That might be entertaining, and you know the 24/7 will be good.

Yeah, it should be illegal to play defense. I mean really, we want to see goals, not defense. Who needs a goalie anyway? All they do is clog up the net, and not let shots by. They were scared of a defensive scheme, and couldn't think of a way to beat it, so they decided not to play. Everyone brings back how boring the Devils were when they trapped, and how that was cheating, but I don't remember them being a dynasty. There are ways to beat any kind of trap. Meh, that's MLS. Who even watches that? I have to say that it was pretty clever they way they snuck it in, and unless you're paying attention, you'd never even connect the two. I'd be worried, as a business owner who branded a team, say the Pittsburgh Anheiser-Busches, that your team turns into the Yankees, where everyone hates them, and your brand goes down the toilet. It's nice when you have a huge fanbase, and other teams fans are ambivalent about your team, but when fans of 29 other teams despise your team, that could hurt.

Noone can beat them to take the title either, so there's that. They're eternal champions, until they pop back up in a couple of years. I miss my Ice Bats, but am more than happy with the Stars AHL team that took their place.

West. As others have said, the way you stay sharp is playing the best competition. Also, another good point I saw was the dirtiness/physicality that has crept into the East. The Wings have noone who can play enforcer, and we don't need to lose Hank and Dats to concussions.
