Kesler should be thankful Kronner didn't fight. Not that I think Kronwall is a bad ass or anything, but Kesler is a ******* *****

Mike Babcock praises Red Wings' physical game
ben_usmc replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
McLeod would be the s*** for the Wings. I'd say TooToo as well, but I feel you need a legit heavy weight around to back a player like him up. -
personally I have thought Cleary has been overrated for a while. But since he's been moved down he's done awesome. Conner is a beast out there, him and helm are a really fun duo to watch.

Dan Carcillo Comments on David Backes
ben_usmc replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
I think you are looking at it in the wrong context. I believe most people understand (some what)why he is a spotpicker. He is a bigger value to his team than just some average goon, but it still doesn't change the fact that he is. -
mark my words, if someone ever did that s*** to Howard. He would go ape s*** and swinging hardcore.
-
That's some fantastic monday morning Quarterbacking you did there
-
Conklin has looked like absolute s*** in the few games he's played. With that being said, it's certainly not enough of a sample size to dismiss him
-
yes, I well telling my friend the exact samething during the game. Hudler has been playing some good hockey, but he seems to struggle keeping it int he zone at the point. Plus he's been caught a few times when trying to settle it down.

Why is anyone surprised that entire organization is full of ******* hypocrites starting with that piece of whiney s*** Mario

Very tired of Dan Cleary.....
-
haven't read the thread, but am I the only one who thinks Cleary is worthless?

I hate the trap, and will forever hate teams like Min./NJ because of there use of it over the years. But it's not something that should be discussed, just learn to beat it
-
makes sense, he was the only one who looked like an NHL on a line with Franzen/Bert so we can't have any of that on this team.

Never would happen, but I am tired of watching Howard as our enforcer

Jason Williams signs 1 year contract with Pittsburgh
ben_usmc replied to winger30's topic in General
I disagree, I think they'd be better off just bringing one of their prospects as opposed to Williams. I just feel like he brings nothing positive so I would pay him for what he provides.... That's right charge him to play! -
So i was online looking for quotes from Bobby Orr about Lidstrom but all I could find were peoples comparision, if someone could help out it would be much appreciated.

thanks a lot

I'd give a B. Holland obviously knows the Defense needed a lot of help, however he overpaid Ericsson by offering him a contract in the 1st place. But White is a good replacement for Raffy (especially when he was declining). I also liked Commedore so getting him for cheap and as a utility I really think is a good move. Conklin liked it here, the team is familiar with him and last time he was here he played great. Plus I'm happy to have the cap space. I would however like most like to see him bring in a bruiser, but it's not a huge deal for me. I just didn't like that Datsyuk/Howard were our enforcers, how the f*** you let someone take shots at either of those 2 and not go ape s*** is beyond me.

Actually I would say depending on the pick that would be enough. Our dmen are overrated through out the league. Think about it Holland most likely signed Ericsson for what other teams were offering, not to mention the pay day Lebda got, and even Quincy got love out in LA and CO. So if you gave Hudler (who sucks now, but has proven he can play) and a defenseman who some think could be a top 4 (yes they are crazy), plus a 2nd or 1st you could probably get something decent. Also as far as the cap space, I'd rather see a trade of one of our depth players and gain from a team trying to shed money. We eat up some cap space and gain some hopefully muscle. I also would like to see Conklin as our back up. I have a good feeling about this season
-
The only other dman of any merit who wasn't overrpaid this off season was Eric Brewer. I think Holland got the most bang for his buck as far as defensive spending (White, Commy, Big Rig). I say this and I HATE Ercissons contract but in respect to the entire situation we are better defensivily than we were last year, younger and bigger. Plus we don't know how much of a negative effect McCrimmon had on our defense and with a new D coach a lot of people will probably be quite pleased. Like I said last page though, I'd love for a big mean son of a *****, if that happens, helm/Murzak/Abby will be running people through the freakin boards.

Although I'm not confident in our defense, I am content with what Holland has done at the end of the day. He obviously knew the defense needed to improve, he massively overpaid Ericsson, his additions of Commadore and White at there prices seem good. I just hope he grabs a heavyweight 4th liner for cheap and we go into the season with the money. I was really pissed about the Big Rig signing but I'm hoping with a good defensive coach all 3 regain form.
-
Im happy with the signing, and with people stating about the comparison with Rafalski, he is paid about half Raffy's contract

There is this crazy thing called TRADES.....
