I love comments like this. I suppose the J Williams and Modano signings were brilliant moves as well? Because pretty sure most Wings fans were pissed about both them, but Holland and Co. are all knowing..... It is ok to think for yourself on here... This defense is going to be hilarious to watch this year. Did we address any actual needs other than resigning Lidstrom?
-
lol, so I can't wait for 2012-2013 b/c obviously the Wings don't care about this one
-
see I don't understand this. Everyone says it's a weak FA market and players are being overpaid so Ericsson's contract doesn't look so bad. But Ericsson at no point is worth 3.25 million dollars, whether inflated or not. Let him walk it's not like Smith could be much worse, and save the cap money for through out the season when teams realize they won't be in the chase.
-
this is buls***, we are bringing back the same ******* team as last year, except now they are over paid. Great logic, we couldn't get it done last year so lets ******* try it again without making any changes, f*** you Ken Holland you lazy f***.
-
yep still ******* pissed about this deal. f*** you Ken Holland
-
I'm sure he's looking to get rid of Hudler so we can offer Eaves $6 million a year for 4 years
-
nope everyone on our team is the best at every position. It's also in our best interest to keep the same team we had last year since we went so far. By the way we do have the good fortune of the teams in our conference not getting better.
-
so what Ericsson ******* sucks, there are tons of different methods in which to make the d better, none of which include Ericsson.
-
This still ******* pisses me off, I pray he proves me wrong. But he ******* sucks so bad, how and the hell do you pay 3.25 million for someone who sucks so bad????????
-
If a player is actually worth the money Kenny likes to underbid, if he blows we decide to throw the farm at him, wtf are we Toronto??
-
dude you seriously need to get off of Hollands nuts, you do realize the man is capable of ******* up. Hudler/Madana/Williams/Ericsson all horrible horrible moves. If you want to do nothing but be around people that agree with him get off messageboards and start just watching FSN because on messageboards people actually follow the sport and understand this is buls***.
-
Hopefully Holland works real hard and tries to sign Jason williams again. I am no joke pissed off about this, Holland has made deals I didn't like but they were at least somewhat with in the range of value. This is ******* pathetic and it seems like his ******* ego has gotten the best of him. Cut the ******* cord for once! the common arguement is, He played 20 min per game blah blah blah, to bad they were against a bunch of scrubs and he still stood out to be a big useless ***** piece of s***
-
maybe 1.5 more? Are you ******* kidding me? 1.5 million would have bought us a better defenseman then that useless piece of s*** we call big rig. This maybe one of the worst moves the wings have done since the lockout.
-
lol must be that legendary hometown discount working again in our favor. 6/30/2011 the day Ken Hollands career went on the decline??
-
Awesome, he will look amazing playing with talent like Shanny, Feds, and Stevie Y!!!
-
I The west is better than the east, I'd rather the Wings play in the better conference, we have DVR for a reason
-
It's not hard to bring more value to the team then Hudler did. Hell the fans in the crowd probably did more to positively effect the team then Hudler
-
No way Kesler is an *******. He is the greatest player to ever lace them up: Kesler>>>>>>>>Pasha
-
On the converse couldn't you list big guys who are ******* Franzen/Ericsson. I think last years draft was great and trust Holland. Just wish we could see some of those young players actually play on the team, that seems to take forever
-
Agreed, I can understand people who would like to trade Flip (even though I'm a fan). I feel like we probably wouldn't get his true worth in return. Hudler however has become almost an addition by subtraction situation, though I'm not opposed to at least seeing how he fairs early in the season

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

For sure, I bashed on him through out the last 2 seasons about his defensive play, but at the end of the day his contract was worth it, and he did alot for Detroit (including destroy his body) -

Very good point, but it's not like we would see those late 1st rounders in our line up for another decade anyway. Not while we can still potentially sign a player like Draper to stay until he's a corpse edit: Also where did all these Weber rumors start anyway? I feel like they have gone on with potentially trying to steal him it seems for the last 2 years. Preds may not spend to the cap, but I bet they will be a lot more willing after that playoff run this year, Come on now you really think they are going to let Weber go? -

Get any 2 of Wiz/Brewer/Vandemeer/Bogosian, let Salei/Big E walk, then have Kindl run full time bottom pairing with Smith being the utility 7th dman. I prefer Wiz/Bogosian Although he has been very erratic the last few seasons (aside from Olympics) his contract was worth it, he was a big piece in winning the cup and it's sad but you could kind of tell the body just couldn't do it anymore. Good Luck Rafalski -
I'd like to keep Eaves, but wouldn't be upset if Miller left. Also please do not put Minn. in our division, they are so boring to watch and are just an all around uninteresting team. Although I suppose Nashville would love it considering the divisional competition would be much weaker.

Glad Holland is holding the d responsible, hopefully it's just a portion of things to come
