Well either tank completely and go for a low pick, or actually try to improve the team for a play off run. Don't just do nothing at let us sit as a fringe team, how does that benefit us in anyway?
-
ok fine they lack heart or just flat out suck, either way it's very disappointing and holland/babcock calling both there jobs in this season is pathetic.
-
yeah the flames look like they have a tough one, but you have to account for the continued heartless play of the wings
-
isn't it roughly the same as Flips except a NTC? If he is making the same amount as Flip then it is a very bad contract
-
I think Howards horrible rebound control cost us 2 goals. Other then that Cleary is horribly overpaid. For those who hate Flips contract; should be sick over Cleary's he has done absolutley nothing. Also what the f*** does Zetterberg think he's doing, he was supposed to be the hardworker and some even thought the next stevie, LOL I never would see this from Yzerman. Then you say this team has no heart look no further then Jason Williams; when you sign him you are basically just half assing yoru job. Ericsson looked good tonight though, so did Datsyuk and Lidstrom have that going for us . OH and put in Ozzy ******* a babcock.
-
The only thing I can think of is the fact that Ericsson will stand up for himself and against the flames they will need to play tough. But I still would rather have Lebda because instead of kicking ass I'd rather win. Wings take this one still I feel like we are going to start rolling

Have to go with Howard even though he's cooling off now. He carried us a while and was a major pleasant suprise.

Official Poll: Filppula at 3 Mil. or Hossa at 5.4 + return for Filppul

I haven't seen anyone say you swayed or even reinforced there arguement. Just because they have opinions as to why they should have kept Hossa doesn't mean they are the same as yours, nor does it mean you have convinced them, or even that you have been winning any arguement. Please point out all these people who have said you have successfully stated and defended there points?? You also keep talking about inflation, as if you know for certain the cap is going to go up every year, and even if it does that it is going to go up drastically. You don't think for a second there could be a decline in the cap within the decade that Hossa signed for??? What part of the problem with the contract to me don't you get his amount for his AGE is a huge issue. At one time Rafalskis contract was considered great now look at it, but obviously with your omnipotent powers you can for certain say the same end result won't happen for Hossa. Also show me a 30 goal scorer with a lifetime contract at the age of 30 or more. -

Yes, it actually just makes you look like an arrogant ******* acting as if your opinion is superior to others. You have no idea what anyones' background is and for the most part with out a logical argument most won't (and shouldn't) give a s*** what you have to say (general point). You of all people calling others keyboard warriors after the attitude you portray on here is laughable -
I thought he's been slow, I guess I should temper my opinion of last years Lils. But anything is better then how Ericsson was playing, Lebda actually hasn't been bad the last few games he did good day
-
well it seems most disagree with me on the subject also
-
Williams got his goal by being shoved down and the puck going directly onto his stick, he didn't even have to move it, not to mention the only reason Z was able to pass it was because of a horrible shot attempt that was blocked or whiffed. Also just because Lilja has an excuse doesn't mean he didn't play bad; I understand why.
-
No that I don't blame him for. I think he is just so slow and timid (understood) but still can't afford to have another dman playing soft.

WOW your hockey credentials are amazing you should jump behind that bench and tell Babcock what to do..... So once again a 3 million dollar 2nd liner was owned by a top 3 player in the league, that is completely and utterly shocking. I wouldn't say it was the making or breaking in the finals, I would say pretty much s***ting the lead away and taking Abby out who was money against Pitt didn't help. Along with the willingness of letting Talbot ***** slap the entire team being another major contributing factor. Crosby and Malkin didn't own the wings at all it was the depth players who really stuck to us. Hossa didn't create much of s*** in the playoffs when we needed him too, and something about signing a 30 year old to a lifetime contract who has just come off surgery doesn't seem like a great idea when we already have our 2 injury prone lifetime contract players as is. Lastly wasn't there a huge tampering uproar about Hossa potentially skipping out on that contract. You think nothing will happen if he does, after being called out. I mean, I know your an expert playing in juniors and all but does that also make you a master of the political backlash within the NHL? -
Yeah I would agree at times they really did show flashes, especially Dats and Mule just owning the offensive zone. But it seemed like we were on our heels majority of the game.

really?? Not even close? I'll tell you one thing I saw was Flip doing great in the playoffs while Hossa didn't do jack s***. -
I hope not, I thought he's played horrible this year. But I wouldn't be opposed to getting him some starts now that Jimmy is falling back down to earth.

So pay Hossa 1.3 million more a year at the age of 30 for 9-11 years is better then 3 million for Flip? I still don't see how in the long run this a good idea, look at how f***ed this team is with the salary cap after losing Sammy/Hudler/Hossa how do you imagine we would be with another lllloooonnnggg contract that is 1.3 million more then one we already have? We could have a team of geriatrics out there on the ice eventually, hell our team could turn into a father and son tandem with the old old vets and young rookies. I mean that's how long our contracts are going and his would have most certainly turned out. Maybe we even trade for Diepetro! -

I'm saying if. It seems like he should have had an idea. You asked how it Hudlers contract affected Hossas, you don't think the money Holland was going to put towards Hudler couldn't have been given to Hossa? -
Or Malkin for swinging a stick at a players head, or Malkin for taking his gloves off and starting a fight with less then 5 minutes, or Malkin for being a big ******* ****

Because if Holland knew we were losing Hudler he could have put that money towards Hossa
