Just in on 971 Franzen says they are close to a deal, it will be long term and supposed to be in the neighborhood of 4 million. But they aren't quite sure how it will hit the cap, they are debating on that now.

On the 2nd statement you are probably right, but I'm sure if we dumped and chased it would work if for the sole purpose of people not even expecting it from them. I also think it would help players like Cleary (sorry but he has been my biggest disappointment; well him and Ozzy). But anyway I think it would help our "bangers" anyway, Draper/Maltby/Kopecky/Cleary they aren't as good stick handlers as the other so dump in and for check.

Also yes it has been part of the problem especially on the PP, they tried to cross the line for a good 30 sec a few times and couldn't. But on top of just the refusal to dump in chase a cycle down low would be nice also. It appears that when we are in there zone there is absolutely no room to work. But in ours the space is to move is amazing.

I would love to know why the f*** we are not willing to dump in chase. EVER! Make Cleary actually useful because he tends to do good on those, Mule does good on those also.

it does make you wonder he came from ATL what exactly did he do there? Because they certainly aren't a team that you want a coaching staff from, they suck and had sucked for a long time.

Well now I don't know what to do. I wanted Conklin in net and if that's how he is going to play if he is under pressure of trying to be the number 1 IDK. I'd love to see a kid up but that is almost to risky for a player that hasn't seen any NHL time. Plus as someone mentioned hoping for a Price type player, Price blew last years playoffs. I guess we just flip back and forth and ride with the lesser of 2 evils at the end of the day. This also had to be Big Rigs worst game of the season he looked horrible out there; at least him and Lebda as a combo did. Draper and Maltby are done, they are done, they both need to sit this playoffs unless someone is injuried, they are done. I was watching some of the EDM VS SJ game and both teams were flying down the rink putting pressure on. I haven't seen the Wings "fly" down the rink since about mid Feb, this team really is lacking motivation or I hate to say it possibly heart. They remind me of the Pistons after they won the championship and that resulted in CF and even another Finals appearance but no wins... But all I can do is hope and pray for the best. We need to trade (yes I know a few have NTC) a combo of Kronner/Stu/Cleary/Meech/Lebda/Draper/Sammy convince Ozzy/DMac/Maltby all to retire. Then we can sign Mule/Hossa/ and bring in Doug Weight for cheap . Bring up some youth Leino/Helm/Abby etc.

I could have sworn Downey played quite a bit last year, didn't make have a few games including a fight in the playoffs. Lets also not forget both Drake fought quite a few times and even Lilja/Kopecky had a few fights last year. So this year we've had Hossa/Downey/Lilja fight..........

bulls***, the defense would look a lot better if they had confidence in a goalie actually stopping a shot. You think we went from the best to one the worst in a year? It's much more logical to think 1 player has regressed not 6. Not to mention that no matter what there will be shots on goal and to say Ozzy isn't at fault for letting in so many soft goals is ridiculous.

I bet if you meet bands at signing events they charge, just like if you meet an athlete after a game they won't charge to sign. Either way ask Cleary to start giving a f*** and playing like he did when he earned that contract.

so heres the problem, do we start with Ozzy go in a 2 game hole, then put in Conklin and he sucks and we just get ran through like a sorority girl on ruffes. Or do we go with the unknown in hopes he is good, and if he does suck then bring in the "proven" goalie who has played like s*** all season and hope he has the spark to show he was just waiting for the playoffs.

Exactly how the hell do people expect a goalie to ever get playoff experience without ever playing in one. I mean did Ozzy just wake up and some how already played twice? Seriously quit living about players past, Ozzy was great last year he almost deserved the Conn Smythe, but you know what he has been beyond horrible this year, when he's on the ice you can almost bet it's going to be a 3 goal game. Move on, I would rather the team win more then anything, and I doubt Ozzy can do it; I hope he can prove me wrong. So what makes you think Ozzy can do it, and don't post what he's done he last seasons?

agreed, yeah it's a very understandable reasoning, at the same time it is extremely s***ty to do to the fans. People pay a lot of money on a ticket in hard times and they decide to ******* half ass the entire game.

What the hell are you talking about? I mean I can't really argue against someones opinion on a topic like that, but I sure as hell root for my team over any player. I personally would rather have a SC then a regular season win that I'm at any day of the week. Also nobody is really any less of a fan if they are insulting players that deserve to be criticized. I have no idea how Hasek scared you more so then Ozzy has this year, I would love to have the Ozzy of last year because he was lights out, but this years Ozzy is 1000x worse then Hasek was last year.

If anything don't you think Conklin would be playing for the pay day of his life; remember he is a free agent. He will finally get to start a series to make up for his past, plus if he does good as a starter in the playoffs then next year he could be a starter some where with starter pay.

I don't really care about a protypical enforcer, I just want our guys to stand up for themselves and each other. Not just fighting but hitting and protecting.

sorry but being a "pk" specialist and a face off guy really don't do it for me anymore. Although Maltby has been playing really good on the PK so I'll give him that. But we have plenty above average face off people. If that's all they are worth and doing for the team they sure as hell shouldn't be playing. Because I would rather have a 3/4 that can I don't know shut down another teams line, or throw a check, not run around and kill any momentum we have. Maltby+Draper+Ozzy= the key to Detroit failure this season. I'm not saying they can't turn it on, but they sure as f*** better soon. Also I'm not talking about Crosby's tactics or reasons, but the fact that a whiney ***** like him is willing to stand up for himself, we have plenty of people who have no excuse why they shouldn't.

If Cindy Crosby who is a hart contender stands up for himself, your ******* right our 3/4 lines better sure as f*** learn to play with a sack; Sammy/maltby/draper/kopecky etc. You may get rocked by Lilja but you also play much more aggressive if you think your team has your back. Someone runs Ozzy, oh no problem we have a pp to show them, they run ozzy again, run him again and injury him. Great we got 2 or 3 goals but lost a player for a few games . They put one of us in the hospital we put one of theres in the morgue
