exactly, and it would solve the whole need for a crease clearing dman
-
yeah it's about that time to be giving our stars some breaks. I take it more so AFTER the trade deadline though
-
lol hey sometimes the ends justify the means. Of course that is making a deal with the Devil, but we would have the sickest defense in the league. What would a trade like that involve, I would take it Flip and someone else plus prospects?
-
I disagree, all I hear from Pens fans is how bad Whitney has been. So they dump a lot of salary get a good prospect and can get a big name to help crosby. Of course you'd think the Pens would have learned that winning starts at the defensive end......
-
Pits probably trying to clear up space for a Kovalchuk like move
-
it didn't seem on purpose to me
-
CHRIS STEWART DAMNIT!!!!!!!
-
Detroit will only make one move and won't give up a roster player for that move, it's not there style
-
Kopecky/Helm/Leino line up would be good, Kopecky has been playing good whenever he has some youth on his line.
-
it's not negativity I would love to have a figher, who can play hockey. But I'm not willing to give up an important piece for it. If they will take a 4th liner then sure, or a few picks, or Lebda/Meech/Chelios/Ozzy, go right ahead. But for a player like that most teams will be asking for to much.

http://www.redwingscentral.com/prospects/ericsson.php "Plays a physical game ... Hard worker with good competitiveness ... Willing to stand up for his teammates, fighting when necessary" I could have sworn it used to say "has a good right hand too" but I couldn't find it. Ablekader fights also, and I believe Kindl fought once or twice. Actually a lot of our incoming youth is either pretty damn big 6 ^ or will drop the gloves if needed. Also Kosolov used to be a bruiser in his old league, but from what I've read hasn't been quite physical since coming over. I'm sure that has to do with transitioning though.

I think the tonight show for leino is a good one. I understand your point though. Oh and Mule and Paintrain are sweet to
-
But we aren't deep that down the center, also the only one I really see us getting for Flip is Neil. I still don't think Lappy will leave the Av's nor do I want him he is a middle weight at best. If we are getting an all around player/fighter you narrowed it down to 2. So in essance if we trade Flip for Neil would 2 mill be enough to sign all 3? That hurts our depth down the middle, and who's to say Neil sticks around, if he doesn't we are right back in the same spot with one less player. Also isn't Ott. looking for draft picks we at least would command a 2nd for Flip at the contract we have him signed for. I'm not completly saying it's a stupid idea, just showing things aren't as easy as they seem. Nor is it always smart to have a knee jerk reaction.

actually Leinos is the tonight show
-
yeah Holland has been giving NTC's like condoms at high school
-
Yeah he is really going to give up his NTC. I hope you are joking because if not then you have no idea why the wings are such a good franchise, if so you sly bastard
-
so 1st who are you giving up to get these players, because we already need cap space how can we add more? Someone has to leave, are you willing to give up scoring just for a fighter? 2nd what are trade options for these players, Ian will resign with the Av's I would bet on that. Chris Neil, Sens won't want Draper/Maltby/ or Kopecky. So we give up Sammy a proven scorer and playoff producer that is good in his own end and wants to be here? Why would the Blues trade to the same conference and would they really want any of those 3, besides what besides punching does he offer that Kopecky doesn't can he play the PK has he ever shown any signs of any deking?
-
Fine whatever I just am going by what I've read, but must not be much a great man fighting a 5'10 rookie. That's also great he has 5x more points then Mursak, besides the point and also hasn't Mursak sat most of the season? Lastly I guess Pronger isn't a goon either; he's defense.....
-
why not Draper he costs more and has a lower +/- then either of the other 2?
-
Besides when Downey was up he didn't do s***. This year in the minors he really hasn't done s***. Hell one of our 5'10 rookies fought a 6'5 goon a few weeks ago, all Downey managed to do was chirp from the bench. Everyone on the Grifs. board says he has been horrible.

actually Franzen was the 1st to stand up for Hudler. A side from that who exactly are you willing to give a roster spot up for an enforcer, and what enforcer would you want? The only ones I can think of would be Draper or Maltby atm because Kopecky actually looks like he is coming around, or maybe Lebda. But what enforcer do you want how cheap and besides fighting do they bring anything else to the table?
-
never try to give up something for nothing, thats bad economics
-
yes mr. Yzerman where do babies come from?
-
Actually when he 1st arrived as I have said many a times, he looked better then Abby did on his arrival. It was against the Flames and he was leveling everything in sight, he even nailed Phaneuf, plenty of people were impressed. Then when he made the team he wasn't doing great but he wasn't bad at all, eventually the injury bug set in and here we are. I mean I am ticked at Kopecky for the Jackets game where he could have had Commedore off the ice for fighting if he just would have hugged him for a min. But to think all these injuries haven't affected his play is just simply wrong, do I know if he will ever comeback to how he was? No but he surely isn't the biggest problem on the 4th line especially for his cap hit. Kopecky has shown at the very least he can be a plug on any line and has decent PK abilities. I also think it is just pure hate of the guy if you can't admit he has been playing much better lately. Keep in mind 2 things, lately he has played with some younger players; interesting. Also he came back how early from his knee injury like 6 months or so, maybe he is now getting a bit stronger. He actually knocked Shea Weber on his ass last night which was impressive, so give him a little bit of time. I have seen threads bashing Sammy/Flip/Kopecky all on offense or the 4th line as a whole. Why no hate for Draper he offers nothing but maybe one more face off win and now horrid defense. Or Maltby who plays decent defense, hits maybe even softer then Kopecky and gets paid more......

Well, I plan on reading everyones after game thoughts, but before I do I'll state mine. Our team looked great tonight, glad the Mule is back he looked hungry today. Conklin played as good as we need to win, Hossa is a complete BA and hope he stays, same with Hudler; no bitching just gets up and goes on a breakaway. Helm just can't be stopped he is 100% all the time, and there is no way Leino doesn't deserve to be on this team. Lastly I think Kopecky and Flip read LGWs. Because Kopecky shows what he can do with some life on his line, I think he has really shown up the last few games and am hoping he is improving, maybe his leg is coming back full strength (nice little hit off the puck on Weber). Flip was playing very hungry and was setting Hossa up for some great shots, and his back checking tonight was very stand out. Great game all around.
