I love watching fights, when they come from emotion. How many times has there been a fight out of emotion this season. Wow great Orr got into with Brashear, cool but nothing special because it's pure goons doing it for no reason at all. Those types of players ruin the game. I want to see the Datsyuk vs the Roberts altercation and etc. When people who aren't just there to fight the other teams goon fight, those are interesting and entertaining. Not 2 guys who just square off for no reason.

I was on the hfboards prospect section yesterday and someone was asking if a player was compared to dats, later he asked if dats was known for defense when drafted and pretty much every wings fan said no. Point being is with the way Hudler has been hustling and playing pretty damn good d this year there is no doubt in my mind that he could become a good two way player given another 2-3 years under Z/Datsyuk. He has a heart Franzen could only dream of.

why bother playing for the Av's they are going to be out of it. Could you imagine if he could stay healthy and came to the Wings;of course it would never happen but still:Datsyuk/Z/Hossa/Forskin/Lidstrom/Rafliski/Hudler/Mule/Homer screw a goalie we could win if we pulled him and played 6 on 5

I really wish there was some postive news on Hudler: maybe he knows he has to take less also They also put Hossa on the 2nd line to lower his stats and make him sign for less; just like Holland did to Z jk, but it is a sly idea.

I say we stick with Hudler, I like the Mule a lot but I'm willing to bet if he goes to another team those fans will be disappointed. Hudler is cheaper, younger, actually plays tougher, plays with more heart, and better offensively. His defense is improving a lot also; this coming from someone who wasn't a fan of us a few years ago. Hossa/Hudler/Franzen. I hope we can talk Hudler/Franzen into waiting until Lidstrom is off the books. Question: If Draper retires this year, his cap hit is here to stay. But what were to happen if Illitch bought him out at the end of the season then he retired?

I wish we had the Kopecky that 1st came up against teh Flames. That Kopecky was a beast, he hit everything in sight, I believe he even laid a good one on Phaneuf. I'm wondering if he has changed his game because of the serve injuries he's had, or maybe he is no longer capable of it because of those injuries. It will be interesting to see how he progresses with a full season; hopefully without a sevre injury. I also wonder how he would look with a fighter, that's why I don't think the Maltby comparision is bad. A new grind line of Abby/Helm/Kopecky, maybe he would feel safer with more hitters out there. Also he kicked some dudes ass in the AHL it would be nice to see him do that some more.

makes sense to me, I was telling a roomate about this. NY loved Avery and he loved NY, I didn't ever here anything bad coming out of there about him. I also agree with egroen, everyone hates Avery but all he does is talk s*** you never see him cheapshot a player + he's a team cancer(but he's not on my team) so he gets a pretty bad deal for not being an Ott/Ruutu type

good, I don't want him banged up during the regular season going into the playoffs. Plus whenever homer comesback from injuries he plays with some real fire. This gives us more time to bring up young players. Helm/Leino/Ericson/Kindl/Abby/Howard/Larsson/Ritola,bring them up and keep swapping them out. I'd love to see the young goalies get a read on if we should look for something out there or keep it in house, this really gives us a chance to look at potential trades because of replacements already available in the system. Oh and we can now bring Downey up just in cases s*** bags like jovocop decided to cheap shot Z again.

What really was the last straw for me on Kopecky was when he didn't fight Commedore. I mean sure he would have gotten his ass kicked and he isn't just a goon or anything, but when a 4th line grinder can take out the best dman of the other team for an extended period of time it's a must. He could have just hugged him the whole time but get him off the ice. Kopecky has been playing better as of late, but that still doesn't mean he is playing good. I do agree however that his line is just brutal but I put most of the blame on Draper and then Maltby, lastly Kopecky; his career might have become a bust in potential route with all the injuries. B/c when he was 1st called up against the Flames about 3 years ago he hit everything that moved.

1. because last year means this year. Anahiem obviously won the year before us therefore the following season they did great 2. Talent has been winning the games 3. once again talent not desire; when we play with desire we can win. I'm sure you have but at what point do bad bounces became just bad goaltending. Ozzy has had more "bad bounces" this year then everybody. The reason it even is an issue because let in a lot this year when last year he was money. Plus you can use the bad bounce and armchair arguement for any play of the game. I mean we are all being armchair anaylsts, thus being on the messageboard. I hope Ozzy turns it around to but that 1st goal he should have had. You are right though this arguement isn't going to stop, the only thing that bothered me is pointing out that you played hockey making you some sort of expert compared to those who are bitching about hockey; which you have know idea whether or not they played or even the level. So I go back to saying unless you are in the NHL or another pro league even it just comes off as self-righteous. On another note with Kronner I know he's been getting a lot of "bad bounces" also, but has anyone else thought maybe he is looking bad this year because this is his longest season. If I recall correctly before last year he was injuried in both playoffs so he didn't play that many games, but he played all last season which was very long and hasn't been injuried this so.... Maybe just sit him for a game or so give him a break, tell him to go back to the basics ala Lebda....

you just are assuming I didn't play hockey because I think he should have played that better? Once again you must be Howe, or maybe Chelios because unlike others YOU"VE PLAYED THE GAME! I'm not an Ozzy hater at all I could careless who we have in goal as long as we win and at least they are playing DECENT. When a goalie is sucking I will say it and not just give him a free pass. But since you've been in the league I suppose you know ssssssooooooo much more then the rest of us.
