They should just allow players to beat the s*** out of him then, because you shouldn't be allowed to play like he does and not have to answer the bell. Ott is probably the only player in the league that I would laugh at if someone took a run at him and injuried. Other then that, our chemistry is not mixing to well, our D has sucked. Kronner really has fallen apart this season, and Ozzy didn't have a chance on 2 of them. So really this game wasn't his fault but he doesn't deserve to be the starter. I really would love to have had him on IR and bring up Howard or Larsson see how they would do for a little while.

Look at about 90% of the threads and when talking about the team in general it can be seen a ton of times. I personally hope to never see you do it though, since it bugs you so. what's great about that blog is they talk about how bad our fans are because we are good. Yet I never had a problem with the cowboys until in 07 I went to the game here in Detroit, and Cowboys fans have to be some of the biggest assholes I have ever seen. personally I think the way the NHL went about this more made Dats and Lids say f*** you we are for sure not going now. I mean whenever someone tries to give you an altimatiam(spelling) most everyone says f*** you then I'm doing it to spite you now. I do understand were the NHL is coming from the problem is they decided to now just enforce it, which they didn't in the past. Then they changed it when the Crosby situation came up and that makes it look even shadier(especially for Wings fans after the SCF). But the proper way to have gone about this would have been to say they will be enforcing this rule for the next ASG and on. With laws generally aren't they supposed to give a time for people to make adjustments to the new laws.

Well the Sens should be in full rebuild mode, and if you look at it objectively you would see they are getting a young puck moving dman from a team that produces nothing but great defensive players. They can compare the idea to how Quincy plays with min. in LA and what Lebda would do for them, so he is a decent 4/5 guy on the team and they get a midlevel pick. A 3rd rounder isn't trash anymore, it could possibly be traded with another 3rd for a late 1st. On top of that Neil could just end up being a rental for us and go back to the Sens during the summer. Essentially they would have a young puck moving dman who has some decent upside a decent pick and will have lost nothing with Neil possibly coming back. Because if they are smart they are sellers this draft. The Wings clear cap space for the future get an even later round pick and get the grit needed for the playoff run, it doesn't seem illogical at all. Lastly it sets the tone for future good faith trades, when GM's do things like this it only can help for future trade situations.

people forget that Drake even played last year. He was a freakin manic out there and didn't exactly drop the gloves all the time but sure as hell made people pay and stuck up for his teamates, same goes with Dmac to a lesser role of course.

Problem is just trading Lebda wouldn't help the cap issue. I also agree that the other 3 are highly unlikely to I'm just saying beyond some very gritty older player who needs a cup(drake) or a tough guy who can play(Neil) I just want to make some cap relief early and attempt to get a few draft picks out of the deal. Even if we just traded Lebda for a 4th to somebody it would be worth it to me. I really want Neil here and only way besides Lebda and a decent pick going their way because I assume they are looking to rebuild, would be doing a Sammy for Neil trade; and to be honest that's just not worth it for us. As much as people hate on Sammy he and Ian Laperriers are the type of players every team should mold role players around.

just because someone fights or is an enforcer doesn't mean they can't have other aspects: Lucic, DMac of old, didn't Probie used to be a good player and fighter. For all the people that talk about look at play off time, we had 2/3 guys who would drop the gloves DMac, Lilja and who people seem to be forgetting Drake. I'm not a person who thinks we just need a goon, although it would be fun. I want someone out there who is going to make someone pay either by fighting or checking when they cheap shot Z. I understand there are very few that can do this and play but why don't we work on getting one of them. Hell Big E is supposed to have a wicked right hand, according to his scouting report. I guess that makes him a goon?

A Neil/Mayers trade would be great, also like I said before even if people don't fetch much in return we are just trying to clear cap and get some late picks. Lebda for a 4th, Kopecky for a 5th, Malts for a 4th, Meech for a 5th. Something like that I mean all we are trying to do is free up cap and maybe be able to bring someone in. I would love to get Neil but at what cost I'm not giving up anyone on the 3rd other then Flip; either because I can't NTC: Cleary, or because they are worth there money Sammy.
