The goalies have been bad, quite trying to put the complete blame on the defense. Although the D has been average the goalies have been BAD.

so how do we not have money for call ups? We've had some larger contracts out for a while: Homer/Mule/Cleary. Or is there other reasons why we haven't looked at the youth? Either way lets hope last game was just the begining of the Wings going back on top

I agree, we have been worse since he's been here. It may be a correlation and not causation, but Atl sucked when he was there to so I don't know.

it's sad that Dats has become our best checker and playing the most aggresive, maybe he is trying to show how it's supposed to be done. A few things I must say is I've always that Dats was better and never understood why everyone thinks Z is as good; but after watching the last few games Z NEVER gives up, EVER. My roomate is an Av's fan and he even gets pissed off about how many cheap shots happen to Z. He is like they need someone to stand up for him, he is to nice, he's not like Dats who will get you back. On top of that I didn't care whether we kept Hudler or not, but we def. need to sign him.

I'd rather have a real tough guy who may not get any points as a opposed to washed up one that may end up with 5 points by the end of the season; personal opinion though. Malts I do respect how he has played this season but there is better in the minors then him or Draper; maybe even for a game or 2. Scratchs: Dmac/Maltby/Draper/Lebda inject: Downey/Helm/Abby/Big E. Heck even scratch Cleary put in Leino. It would never in this world happen but I bet you'd see some heart from the youngins, plus when the vets get back maybe they would play with some fire.

I remember early in the season him fighting a lot, he then had very little points but I do remember him still hitting. Now that I think about it he wasn't as aggressive as we hoped. But we still don't have anything to equal those few.

See I'm thinking as far back as 96- on, but you do remember we had Drake and Downey; who both would make you pay and made our team play more aggressive. It isn't much but it sure is better then DMac. I also agree I didn't just mean fighting, I meant checking and aggressive play. Abby would be fine, Helm does a great job when he's up, I would like to see Leino. We really should try to get rid of some of this dead weight; Lebda, Maltby, Draper, Kopecky. Sorry but none of them bring enough to justify them being up over those 2.

seriously we need toughness, maybe not a downey toughness; although im not a against it. We need people that are checking that will create havoc. We have NO checking line, we are an unbalanced team.

I understand that, but this game really hasn't been a lack of effort. It was HORRIBLE goaltending early and then a defense that didn't do anything to help aside from Stuart and Lids. I would actually give the top 2 lines a by because the bounces wouldn't go there way. Except Cleary really hasn't been great since he got his contract, but i suppose we have to give him time. Also what game would you say they have shown effort in then?

I have to say whatever happened to those 40 questionable calls that lead to 3 on 5's in the 3rd against the winning team? where are those when you need em? So much for Happy playing soft: Dats/Hudler/Z only ones that have balls on the team, Lids is just playing great but never is a in your face player.
