I personally would love to keep them both, I think Sammy has looked great this season. The only reason I think the trade is smart is because we need someone like Neil and it wouldn't be free, the Wings wouldn't give up Malts/Dmac/Draper/Kopecky nor would any team in there right mind want any of them. Plus with Leino looking great or Helm able to step up it makes the ability to change Sammy as much I think he has played great we need a Neil player more. Lebda is just to sweetin the pot; on our end because Ott. would be crazy to take that trash.

wasn't it the Ducks logic a few years ago that you can't call us for everything? Hockey 101 would tell you that they can, so apparently not many people in the NHL follow Hockey 101

I like, except I think Abby would bring a big physical presence to; he's scoring great in GR and has already been in a fight. Of course really can't go wrong with either him or Helm

Ozzy has been very poor. EXCEPT this last game against the Ducks he really played great and made every save possible, not an ounce of blame should go on him for the last game, if he continues to play that well then we are in good shape with our goalies.

my god that would be a great pick up, Neil is the man. I would rather keep Sammy to though, call me greedy. Maybe something like Lebda and a 2nd for Neil, but I understand getting rid of Sammy brings up Leino so it is what it is. A line with Neil/Abby/Kopecky/Downey/Helm would be sick, especially nights of Neil/Downey/Abby of course I'm not looking up positions off the top of my head.

Like I've said before and was flamed a few times on either here or central, I would rather have a grit line like the Av's 4th then our shutdown 4th line. It is obvious DMac doesn't have it anymore but I really don't think they played bad tonight. I hope we do have Downey in next game of course after Pronger I really wish we had Probert because he wouldn't have gone after a goon he would have f***ed Pronger up himself, thats a true enforcer.

I think every call against the Wings were legit, but the started calling less and less on the Ducks. I'm not really that upset just for the simple fact that we caused the 5 on 3's which really is what won them the game. The only penalty that pissed me off was Prongers that was missed, I really was waiting for Dats to do something sneaking.

well except of lazy lapses causing us to get huge amounts of penalties we could and shoud have won the game. The only thing I really disagree with is the fact that they didn't call a lot of what they really could and should have against the Ducks, I really hope Pronger gets injuried with a high elbow. Oh and Kopecky played good so that means you should have a season ending injury soon.

I think the calls on the Wings this game were all legit, but they sure as f*** had plenty of calls the forgot to call against the ducks. I really hope Pronger gets his carrier ended by an elbow; harsh but he does deserve it.

Lebda is the worst player on our team and really should be sat for at least a game. He hasn't looked this bad ever before.

Right now I'd rather have Kindl/Ericson harassing the blue line for position. Who else is on the Griffins D we should be looking out for, I know Pyett had a great preseason.

When need some actual crash and bangers on our 3/4 lines we have NO checking it's pretty annoying. The moment the other team plays physical we do nothing, at least last year we had Drake out there and sometimes Downey. I liked Kopecky but he really hasn't taken into the role he is supposed to as the Drake replacement(I'm hoping it's because he is still reahabing). But it would be nice to sit him and hudler/or Maltby/Draper and put Mac and Downey in. Yes you are replacing more talented players with less talented. But you can have to much of one thing and not enough of another. One of the biggest keys to the Wings winning was balance of power.

you have to remember last year he was tearing up the preseason, hell I picked him up in my fantasy. Of course then he was injuried for a while and it took him forever to get back into form.

Moore went to harvard, hockey players may not look to smart but I would put any money down that on average they are much smarter then NBA/NFL players.

I love to see a good line brawl as much as the next guy, but what really made the Av's/Wings rivalry special was the fact that people that don't normally fight or play dirty were. I mean I also think we could use an injection of muscle because that was what Kopecky was actually supposed to do be the new Drake, maybe he's still recovering me he just doesn't have it in him idk but either way he just hasn't done it so far so I would say try something new.
