Lebda needs to sit at least a game he played horribly. Lilja has actually looked good, and Kopecky played decent. Does anyone else think that maybe it takes goalies a little while longer to get back into the flow I mean Boby Lou didn't even look that great; Ozzy made very few good saves and I would say was just about average; regardless if the team plays like this by game 10 they are going to need a huge shake up.

HAHAHA, I guess bowling, cards, and spelling bee's aren't selling to well. ESPN has been become the equivalent to sports as to what MTV is to music. They have a new person in charge who actually said he wanted to get back to the roots, they will no longer produce stupid movies and put more sports back on one of major importance to the guy was hockey.

How has Sammy screwed up where Hudler played well? Hudler has been completely invisible on the 2nd line, Sammy on the 3rd line has played great. I really don't have any idea how you could even say Sammy has been a screw up.

Kipper has been horrible so far this year, and Giggy not much better. At the moment I would rather have Conklin over both: AT THE MOMENT

Why is everyone bagging on Sammy? He had a good game and so did Lilja who had a great PK game. Cleary, Dats, Lidstrom, Mule all are back in season form. Hossa seems to be coming along well and Conks is the man. I really thought Kopecky has been getting a bad rap but it appears he didn't learn jack from Drake because he needs to start becoming our physical player; I'd like to see how he does with an enforcer around him. Really hope Z starts clicking, and Hudler was invisible when he was on the second line he was getting pushed around. That is why they put Sammy and next may be Cleary they need someone with a bigger body to not get knocked out off the puck like Hudler has done so far; though they should try to give the line at least a sold month before deciding where to switch people.

Quick question about Kindl, I was under the impression he was a checker and would fight. But from what I've seen he is a pretty skinny guy was I wrong about him? Is he more of a skilled offensive defenseman, either way I'd like to see him once he is acclimated to NA style. Oh and who gives a sh.t about Latendresse WE HAVE LEINO

I think Lilja has looked ok so far, and Sammy has looked good. It seems that everyone just has such hate against them that they won't be objective at all.

anyone else see Satellite Hotstove on HNIC last night?

Didn't he say he would take a discount, Z is good and all and since he is going to be the captain eventually I would say he should get 7-7.5 max, Datsyuk is better then he is or at least on par so he shouldn't make that much more then him. -
and people thought Simon had no reason to do it, f*** Brashear

or get beat in the first round because you can't maintain your composure.

Sorry for getting back to you so late but it means if your going to have the balls to play like an ******* don't pretend your a saint.

basically the 2 top lines looked ok, Homer was the only one that really stood out. Hudler was pretty invisible until he was pulled off of it. Lebda played probably one of the worst I've seen him, Lilja was decent though. Sammy was looking very good out there, and so was Maltby (go figure 3 of the people everyone hates ended up having good games)Cleary and Ozzie made 2 really stupid plays and it cost us. I was thinking that maybe the fact that we split into 2 different teams could affected them, because lines aren't used to transitioning with each other. Regardless in 06-07 didn't we come out and get smoked for the first 2 months and eventually turned it around. The first few games are all about trying to get back into the rythem and tweaking lines. I'd expect a win this Sat. but I won't really hold it against them until Nov. if these problems continue.

agreed, people love him but he is just another Avery with hands and doesn't even have the balls to speak his mind.

How many players don't make it through waviers that teams are worried about? Besides anyone Burke has under him. I mean generally enforcers aren't really stolen from other teams, so Downey and Mac probably won't be stolen.
-
We could always waive him and bring Downey back
-
I swear I see commericals everyday that promises to clear that up, what scares me more is that it has become contagious in the locker room. Is that **** that covered the finals running around down there?
-
and we thought the injuries would give us a break.... no pun intended
-
I want Downey on the roster too, but fighting has nothing to do with the soft image we had during the playoffs. That was because of people like Lang and Williams, who would just get pushed around. There weren't many fights in the playoffs that Downey or anyone else could have stopped, it was mainly the players didn't have any balls that was why we were soft.
-
Didn't the Mule in a recent interview talk about how Maltby had helped him a lot on working on his defense? Oh and I highly doubt, Holland lets Leino leave.
-
What everyone seems to forget is the reason we are so deep is because we can call people up from grand rapids who would be on most NHL teams. If we trade away Sammy and Lilja, then bring someone else up that just makes us lose some of our depth. IN HOLLAND WE TRUST- just say that motto and everything will be alright.
-
agreed, plus Leino and Helm aren't the types of players to replace Maltby and Kopecky(who actually played fine until his injury). Helm you MAY say he is close but still is more like Draper, and Leino I suppose would be more like a Sammy. You replace players of certain positions with the same type of player; in a successful organization, not just replace checkers with shooters. We all want to see them up, we all know Chelios, and Maltby need to retire but it's not happening this year.

I thought we were over the cap by 1.5 or so how would trading Quincey help?

I don't mind that I live in A2 area

I agree, now maybe DMAC needed some more time to get into shape last year I don't know, but he isn't going to make anyone pay. In Calgary he really wasn't much of a fighter and I highly doubt he improved on that. His scoring was ok, but I really don't see a huge gap between him and Downey. I would hope we bring them both up when we face Ducks/Flames/Avs and so on. Then let the kids play against most of the east, canucks, Edmonton, etc.
