    Could Detroit trade Z?

You're absolutely right that normally franchise players aren't traded. It only takes just one really stupid GM though.
  11. FinRedWing

    Could Detroit trade Z?

And that's why Edmonton won't ever trade Gretzky or Boston won't ever trade Thornton. Oh wait....

    Report: Brunnstrom chooses Detroit?

Let's just go with the old policy,Brunnstrom will make the team if he outplays someone from current roster at training camp. Same goes with Ericsson,Kindl,Andersson etc.

    2008 Australian Open

Congrats to Djokovic. It wasn't the greatest final ever, but a good battle anyways. The funny thing is my cell was ringing constantly, with 3 different friends complaining about this game. They seemed to be very disappointed and missing Federer a lot. "I can't watch this crap much longer,at least Roger can actually play tennis",was the best comment. Odd thing is none of my friends actually like Federer. I wonder what made this final so repulsive to them?

    All-Star Weekend Open Thread

This years Skills Competition wasn't great, but not that horrible either. Just watched the CBC broadcast, they only had like two players mic'd up - Iggy & Phaneuf. Also got to watch VS feed a little bit,it was very different from CBC's (to listen to). Gotta love Edi's bitterness,it really comes straight from the heart. Apparently, he's the best there is in shootouts. And he will hold that title until next year,we'll see IF someone can take it away from him then. Come on Edi,it wouldn't be the same without you commenting on VS etc. A little pwnage there.

    2008 Australian Open

Djoko did what we wanted him to do,he'll win this one AND both Wimbledon/US Open. With Rafa taking the French Open title,I'm predicting a grand slamless year for Roger. It'll be a thriller, watch it with someone who knows CPR. Good luck to Ana!

    Report: Brunnstrom chooses Detroit?

Just as inferior as Florida's Cory Murphy or Minnesota's Petteri Nummelin. But he was by far the best PP quarterback in Europe last season.

    Report: Brunnstrom chooses Detroit?

That's impressive, this story is starting to remind me of Pasi Nurminen. In 1997 he was 22 yrs old, working minimum wage and playing in Finland's s***ty #2 league. 4 years later he played in the NHL. I change my mind, get it done Kenny!

    Report: Brunnstrom chooses Detroit?

That's true. But he still has no chance for a 1st line job in the NHL. Hell,Janne Niskala was tearing Swedish league up in the 2006-07 season: 53 games,19+30=49 (and he's a defenseman) ! This season he's playing in the AHL...

    Report: Brunnstrom chooses Detroit?

1st line start for him? I really haven't seen this guy play, but after all this hype,I thought he was a commanding leader in points. Turns out he's 14th. 38 games, 8 goals+24 assists. Someone said "he's really tearing it up" in the rumor mill thread? I wonder what Tony Martensson and Jukka Voutilainen are doing then? http://www.hockeyligan.se/index.php?stats Get 'em here instead,Kenny!

"Win it for Teemu" only works once, good news for Ducks/whole NHL/Finnish people,BUT this doesn't add their hunger for the Cup. Wings in 6.

I wonder if Andy Delmore is still available?

    2008 Australian Open

Finally! Ms. Sharapova - you're next... So you're saying it'll be the same old story, with Roger's opponent NOT winning the set points (hitting easy volleys wide ) & basically choking whenever there's important points to be won? I can see that might be the case, but I'm still counting on Djokovic.
  24. FinRedWing

    1/23 GDT: Red Wings 2, Anaheim 1

    Agreed,along with GWG-Filppula.
