Last season it was Teemu Selanne (and maybe the chance of his brother also winning the Cup got the captain Scott Niedermayer fired up). 2005-06 it was Rod Brindamour. 2003-04 Dave Andreychuk. 2002-03 might have been a rare off year. 2001-2002 Luc Robitaille & Hasek. 2000-2001 Ray Bourque. What's the case here...? Seems that it helps to have a proven veteran,maybe a future hall-of-famer in your team (who still hasn't won a Stanley Cup). I've been thinking about this and maybe it does help,it's probably giving that team a great boost and even more so a common goal ,let's win it for him-mentality which unites the team. And who will be the next ones,who'll even request a trade so they could win the Stanley Cup if it's not possible in their current team? Teppo Numminen & Mats Sundin come to my mind. What are your thoughts about this?
