I saw this commercial during the first intermission of the Sharks game on 11/17/11. Found it on YouTube today (thanks weallbleedredd), wanted to share with the rest of you. That's an awfully smug lookin' Franzen at the end there..

I like the proposed changes to the net.

These referee problems will continue until the NHL finally decides to allow Coaches to challenge calls/non-calls, OR, Until they remove final decisions from the on-ice officials completely, to be overruled/determined by the video ref. Which during the Bettman regime means; NEVER.

Nope. For his salary, he's been very solid.

Tough choice .. I'm a WingNut first and always. When I lived in San Jose, I cheered for the Sharks as long as they weren't playing the Wings .. but I don't think I can now. I can never, EVER, cheer for the Hawks.. or the Pens for that matter. (if it came down to those 2 playing for the cup, I'd cheer for the roof collapsing on both teams) I'll probably cheer for the Bruins.. Original 6 team, no hate towards them, and I like the way they're playing.

Good Season Red Wings. I honestly didn't think the team would even make the playoffs at the Olympics. Great Run for the second half! Recharge, reload, and start strong next season!

I can understand the reluctance of some of you to replace Jimmy, if you don't want Ozzy to get the 'blame' for the series loss. It's a valid point I suppose, but I just don't see it happening that way. IF Ozzy starts game 4 and lets in a handful and the Wings lose .. I still wouldn't blame him for the series. The game, perhaps .. though I'll still point to Babcocks horrible goaltender mismanagement this season as the reason he's so cold. but If he starts and the Wings WIN (either by being spectacular or by the team responding the the change) then it's a new story. I believe the Wings can WIN with Ozzy. Yeah, it's a long shot. Really really very f***ing long shot at this point. But I still believe the Wings can WIN! With Osgood.

I want Ozzy to start game 4, and win 4 straight.

Holland says NO to Shanny returning

:looney: Ugh, yep that really is an epic fail.

Didn't he play for the Tokyo Katana's?

Actually, this might HELP 'da hawks if Hossa goes on LTIR for the first half of the season.. More cap room ('till he returns, of course.)

Jeremy Williams & Kris Newberry sign with Wings / GR?

The Jeremy Williams Story -
Did you? Did you watch Stuarts' mistakes end up in the Wings net TWICE in game seven? Did you watch any of the other games where Stuarts mistakes ended up in the back of the net? Seriously, how the hell do you 'Stuart Defenders' just consistently ignore his constant mistakes? Regular Season and Playoffs both, Brad Stuart has been the WORST d-man on the team. Hands-down. I swear, some of these 'Stuart Defenders' are worse than the 'Crosby Defenders', & both types make that Brittney Spears kid look articulated and debonair in comparison.

I, for one, will miss his leadership, his determination, his work ethic, and yes his competitive nature. I respect his hockey skills, knowledge, conditioning level, and love of the great game of hockey. I appreciate his contributions over the past decade, especially during the Cup winning years. I will not miss his aging stride, questionable shot selection, or his overall deteriorating skills on the ice. The mind is willing, but the body no longer is able... despite being a total fitness freak. I expect Chelios to become a coach, eventually. Perhaps even a NHL coach.. I believe he has the knowledge to succeed as one. Despite my respect for the man, and admiration for the athlete, time has simple caught up to him. I still wish him the best (except against the Wings) wherever he goes.

While I liked what he brought to the '07 training camp, he really hasn't shown anywhere near the same level of talent since. I know he was injured this past season (knee?), but I'm unaware of any other injuries in the past 2 years that would explain his overall disappointing play. I very much like the fact that the Red Wings invited him to this years camp, & I do hope that Ryno can elevate his game again.. but really it's all on him to prove he deserves a spot, and from what I've seen/read; it's doubtful. jm2c

Not that I have any interest in Dandenault's returning to the Red Wings .. .. but I just LOVED the photo of him in that list; http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery...Params=Itemnr=9

Osgood deserved more, he was strong throughout. This loss was not his fault. (but it still hurts)

... and my hopes and prayers are denied ... wish Stuart could deny the other teams chances as well ...

LETS GO RED WINGS!

I don't care how much ca$h he COULD have made if he signed elsewhere. It's irrelevant to the issue. I don't care that he chose to join the STANLEY CUP CHAMPION TEAM in an attempt to win a Cup himself. His motives are also irrelevant (everyone wants to win a cup!) I do care that Marrion Hossa's EFFORT - ON THE ICE - seems to be ... lacking. He is possibly injured; I can understand that. The past 2 months have been BRUTAL on the Wings! That's not a valid excuse in Detroit, though. Every single player is hurt, some obviously more than others, but that doesn't excuse the apparent lack-of-effort! Steve Yzerman proved to all of us that WILLPOWER > Injury. Don't stop, don't let-up, give it everything and more. If you CAN'T do that, if you are SO injured that you can't muster the energy to even TRY to play... then sit, and let the team dress someone else. Because you aren't doing anything positive for your team anyway. That goes for you, and me, and that goes for Marrion Hossa too. LETS GO RED WINGS! 200% drive and effort from EVERYBODY!

LETS GO RED WINGS! I wanna see the BEST game of the season on Friday! LETS GO RED WINGS! (Dress D-Mac instead of Hossa)

The "I Support Dan Cleary and Brad Stuart" Thread
VikingMark replied to xBrave_Heartx's topic in General
I'm not going to get into the Cleary debate; I like him, was glad when he became the 1st NFer to win the cup, but wouldn't be devastated if he was traded this summer .. hopefully with a second ring. How ANYONE could possibly defend Stuarts awful play this season is beyond me, however. Stuart is, by far, the WORST defenceman we have on the team, in the minors, or anywhere in the system at all. I'd rather double-shift ancient Chelios for every game than have Stuart step on the ice at any time. I'd rather call up the youngest, most inexperianced D-man in the system, than have Stuart play another shift. In fact, I'd rather the Wings use an old battered traffic cone, than let Stuart dress for another game! Every time we have a goal scored against the Wings, regardless of which 'tender we have in net, I look for Stuart and his whatever bone-headed move he made to cause it. More than half of the so-called "bad goals" that people blame Osgood for this season, I blame Stuart for instead. He makes the Red Wings worse, just by being on the team .. and the closer he is to our own net, the more likely it is we get scored on again. Trade his worthless ass, or buy him out ASAP this summer .. and hope & pray that he doesn't cost us the postseason!
