Wow, Vancouver thinks he's great on the power play? Hahaha. He was god awful. I'm super excited he's gone for that reason alone. He's a good 3rd line forward but he had no business on our point for the power play.

I'd be upset if they re-sign Cheli. He's just too old. I think he's fine for the first 20 seconds of a shift but then after that he just tires out and makes mistakes. I think with our cap situation, we need to let him go to make room for the young guys like Quincy, Meech, and Eriksson.

Franzen - Z - Hossa Homer - Dats - Flip Sammy - Cleary - Hudler Helm - Draper - Kopecky 1st Line - I don't like the idea of putting Hossa on a line without a euro twin. However sweet an uber line of Hoss-Z-Pavs, it would be putting all your eggs in one basket. 2nd Line - I loved what I saw when Filp and Dats played on the same line during the regular season. So I think Z gonna be the one to play with Hoss. 3rd Line - A pretty decent scoring threat for a 3rd line. 4th Line - I think Maltby needs to go. He doesn't contribute any more. At least Draper is a faceoff man. Kopecky needs to play or leave. Helm deserves a roster spot for his performance last year.

For sure but as I said, post jaw breaking, he wasn't the same player at all. He had 3 points in 22 playoff games this past post-season. Not 2.8 mill a year numbers if you ask me. Granted, he lost a lot of weight because of his jaw being wired shut and that can mess up your game but you need to bounce back at some point. For his sake, he better join Cheli on those intense summer work outs again.

I don't consider Draper a powerhouse in any sense of the word, especially in the present. I think opposing fans tend to think of our defense as just our defensemen which isn't the case. All 6 guys on our side of the ice are defensemen. That's how the "puck posession" game works and it works quite well. Before March '08 you could make the case that the Wings were weak offensively. Flip, Sammy, Hudler, Franzen, and Cleary (post jaw breaking) were inconsistent and suspect. Then Franzen exploded and propelled us to the Conference finals. Those other 4 players picked it up at that point in time IMO once Franzen went down and that's why we won. I would imagine Filp and Franzen can keep it up and Cleary might find his form again. With the addition of Hossa we are almost friggin invincible.

Mad props to Lilja, he played well ALL series. He seems to be able to recognize when to pinch a lot better than he ever did. Lang was one of our top contributors on the road along with Draper, Franzen, and Bertuzzi. But that doesn't exempt him, he has to keep is play up all throughout. You can't win a Stanley Cup without stellar play from your second center.

Not only that but Calgary knocked us off in OT of Game 6 that year.

I hope Babs has the balls to bench Sammy for Bert. I think he does and I hope he does.

Great jerb, Kenny! At least no one can blame anything on him now! I think its a good deal. We need someone like him, hopefully he's healthy and ready to go. The West has been making big deals and we NEEDED to answer. I like it.

Just how injured is Bert? I never follow the Eastern conf. If he gets healthy fast, I love this trade. If we get Jagr some how, I love it even more.

And Williams had 21 goals last year... All in all, I don't care about this trade. Williams was warned a bunch of times to step up and he failed to. Maybe Calder can. I believe there are more deals to come. Kenny hasn't moved any draft picks yet.

Fedorov is inconsistant and he wasn't loyal to the Red Wings at all. First the Carolina nonsense then the move to the Ducks. Puck him. Joseph was tied for best Red Wing on the ice against the Flames last postseason (tie with Draper) but I love Ozzie. I went with Datsyuk.

I went with the Sens even though I don't like Hasek too much.
