Cosidering Detroit JUST won the cup, the Hossa signing seems almost like a favor to Hossa. I dont think the Holland would have signed Hossa with the sole intention of winning another cup if he didnt know for a fact Flipper was gonna resign, simply because the wings just won a stanley cup. Now if they hadnt won in like 10 or so years, that may be different. Sure, championships are awesome, and I would love the Wings to win every year, but its not like the Wings NEED to win one, and I have a feeling Holland knows that too, thus he wouldnt give away our future for another shot at the cup.

Cant really go wrong either way. Hossa can put the puck in the net, simple as that. Should put up atleast 40 goals (crossing fingers) playing with either one.

I wouldnt say best off season ever, but it is certainly the best one under the new cap. I liked the 01 offseason better. Hull, Robitaille and Hasek, 3 HOFers in 1 offseason. Can't beat it.

To be honest, I thought he was still on the Canes, I didnt even know he was on Anaheim. come to think of it, he did go back to the Blues after winning the cup with the Canes. Did Anaheim get him at the deadline this past season?

If Holland can manage to swing signing Flip as well (which I think he can, cause I dont think he woulda gone after Hossa for one year to lose Flip, especially since they JUST won the cup) I will be amazed.

I love Ken Holland. Hossa was the big thing at trade deadline, Pitts gave up lots to get him, Detroit goes and gets Stuart, not wanting to give up that much for Hossa, WIN THE CUP, and then end up with Hossa for a full season, thats amazing.

Super happy about this signing! Love Stuart, and glad he resigned.
