I have to agree, Filppula is definently the better defensive player, probably due to his better skating. Although it was weird, when our roster was fully functioning with no injuries, Flip was playing on second line with Hudler for a little while, and only Hudler would be on the powerplay. Now, Flip is on the powerplay and hudler hasnt been. I like them both, but Hudler has been in the league longer than Flip, and I can see if the physical play picks up in the playoffs Babs probably wont even play Hudler, so why not trade him if it would be good for his ice time as well.

I think if you are gonna complain about Hudler, you need to also complain about flip as well. However, I understand he should be scoring, but he is always on the third line, whereas Babs refuses to drop Sammuelson out of the top 2 lines. Plus, besides the Dats-homer-flip line, Huds-kopy line played really good tonight, well with respect to the rest of the team. Although if you look at the Wings point leaders, hudler is like the 5th best point getter on our team behind Dats, Z, Homer, and Cleary. I dont know, maybe I am just a sucker for Huds, but I think Sammy is way more expendable than him. And I dont see how one can claim Flip is any more valuable than Hudler, as they are both in a big slump.

ouch..... honestly though, I am normally willing to give everyone a shot, but I am giving up on Sammy. tonight, on the powerplay in the third period, Sammy got the puck at the point, hesitated, was stripped of it, and it led to a 2 on 1 for the Jackets........I was pulling my hair out.

I am pissed as Sammy right now for screwing up that one powerplay the wings should have had

I think we need Lebda. He is really the only D man we have who can dump and chase by himself. He caused a good scoring chance for us tonight in doing so. Plus, he made a great save on a two on one. IMO, I think his speed is too valuable to let go. I think we can pick up another D got, while moving Meech, but I think Lebs and Kronnic are more beneficial than hurtful. Plus, lebda can kinda hold his own, I remember last year he rocked TooToo.......although Tootoo is kinda small height wise

True, but I think his speed is a great asset to our team. Like lidstrom he is able to jump up in the play, yet get back and not neglect his defensive responsibilities, most of the time atleast. As long as him and Kronnic never play together due to their habit of turning the puck over in our zone, I think Lebs is a fine fit for our team.

Thats really why I like him, cause he went undrafted. Plus he is playing alongside his idol, Chelios Although I really like hudler too, but I wouldnt mind him being traded if it gaurenteed him more playing time elsewhere

Honestly, if he does make it back to the Wings, he should definently play with Drapes and Malts. Seeing the Grindline back together would be amazing, for nostalgia atleast But I like Downey more than Drake, the guy seems like he is just happy to be playing for the Wings. Downey is more willing than Drake to stand up for our guys, atleast by what it looks like, and I think that is why Downey is more valuable to the Wings, he recognizes his role, and is actually proud to do his job. Any team could use a guy like that. Although if Mac really got into his pre Flames shape, and push came to shove, I would rather him over both Downey and Drake.
