That's because VS was using the Sharks feed for the game. That's why the graphics at the top of the screen had CSN on it. Comcast Sports Net.

Just to let any AT&T Uverse subscribers know, that as of this morning, AT&T added CBC Ch 9 in Windsor to their lineup. So, with that, Uverse people will be able to watch Hockey Night In Canada beginning this Saturday. As far as I know, this is only in the Detroit area and not in any other part of the country or even state. But it's on and now we'll be able to see all that good playoff coverage that CBC provides.

Gordie, Marty, Mark, Murray and, Cathy, please know that Colleen is at peace now and hopefully all of you will be also at this time of sorrow.

Ooops, Anaheim get Nokelainen, not Torkelainen. All those Finnish names sound alike.
-
Montador to Boston for Torkelainen

Yeah, too bad you guys aren't even going to make the playoffs

I really don't know where you can get Wings videos from that time period but, if you have The NHL Network on cable, they show old games and they've shown some old Wings games from back then. One was from 1970-71, when the Wings went into Toronto and got trounced 13-0. They've also shown a game from the 64 Cup Final vs the Leafs when Leafs player Bob Baun broke his leg, came back out and scored the Cup winning goal for the Leafs. And I believe there's been a couple fo more from the 50's, they've shown. It's not much but, it's a start.

There, Daniels just said it. The Wings have had to play two men short 10 times already this season and have 4 two man advantages so far this year. Yeah, I like the way those things even out.

You're right, there's no conspiracy but, is it a coincidence that the opposing team gets three 5 on 3's in one game? And only two games after another opponent had two 5 on 3's. When do the Wings get one? Are the Quacks playing so clean that the refs can't even things out some. Is this give the poor unfortunate teams in the league a chance against the best team in the league.

Sorry, but the Wings defense is much better than the Pens, period. You're talking about the best defense in the NHL. The only player comparable to Lisdstrom and Rakalski is Gonchar. Ryan Whitney is fairly good but, Orpik and Gill are average at best, though they have picked it up in the playoffs.

I wouldn't read much into it. Turco's probably mad at losing the series which is natural. If you watch others shake hands, some of them say nothing to each other. They only do it because they're expected to. If they had their way, they'd just skate off without it. Belfour did it in 95 after the Wings beat the Hawks in OT. I seen Tiger Williams do it back in the late 70's after the Leafs got beat by Montreal in the playoffs. Some just take it personal. I noticed when Ott and Ozzie shook hands, Ott gave Ozzie the slap on the chest like a job well done.

Why not ask Melrose, he thinks he knows everything else.

Read on TSN that the NHL says the reason it was a good goal was because the Flyer player threw a LEGAL bodycheck on the Cap player and did not come in contact with the goalie, he was hit by his own player. The way I saw it, the Flyer player knew exactly what he was doing and meant to take out the goalie by shoving the other guy into him. Refs and league both blew it.

One more thing. I also called Comcast and the CSA said that it would be on Ch 777, a Center Ice channel. Well, I go there and there's nothing, a blackout. When the Wings play, whatever CI channle they're on is always blacked out because they're on FSD.
-
I heard on another mesage board that this is happening on the other cable outlets and also Dish so, I don't know. No matter what, they announced on the game last on during the Nashville game that it would be on a FSD alternate channel. On comcast, that has been Ch 8 in the past, now it's 900 or 901. They should've been more prepared to show the game than this. And besides that, why does CCHA Hockey have precedence over the Wings that way. Why isn't the CCHA game being shown on the alternate or even the Big 10 Net. I don't want to see the Wings game at 11, when I might already know the score. I want it live.

If all you have to say is gloom and doom, then why don't you walk down to the Gulf and throw yourself in. Nobody will miss your whiny butt. Or maybe you could apply for the Wings GM job when Holland does leave, since you know so much on how to do it. But, the first option would be better, we don't need "fans" like you. Once the injury bug is gone and everybody is back, the Wings will be fine. Trouble with you is you think that Holland should just go out and grab every available player on the market, no matter what the cost.

The best part of the NHL Network is that they'll show classic games most every day. The other night they showed a Wings-Leafs game from 1971. They usually condense them down to 2 hours but, you get to see all the goals and even the fights that may have been in the game. Two weeks ago, they showed a game from the 81 playoffs between Vancouver and Chicago. The game had to line brawls and they showed both. It was fun to see that old stuff again. Plus, they have shows that might feature the best stuff from a certain year, like the best goals, or best games. Lately they've showed alot of stuff from the 90's and you get to see all the old Wings stuff from back then.

Even though the return of McCarty would be intriguing, it's a longshot at best. It would be nice to see No.25 out there again but, Darrens best days are long gone, I think. However, if he has conquered his demons and gets himself in great shape and still has the fire, then anything can happen. As for what Chelios said, SirDork, he has the right to say what he pleases, just like you do. It was just an opinion, not a fact. Or wishful thinking on his part. So don't get your lacy panties in bunch.

Poor Vinnie. He didn't get to fulfill his lifelong dream of playing in Toronto.

Orr and McGrattan could easily be fight of the year but, don't rule out Koci vs Boogard from about a week ago or so. they traded some good licks themselves.

Read what Jimmy D said. "We were TOLD that when the next expansion comes in about five years we would move to the east". Why would he make that up? It'd be different if they were requesting a move to the east but, he sayd they were told it would happen. As for Bettman denying it, what else is he supposed to say. He's not about to tip his hand on the possibility of expansion. Not when they are many many critics who are calling for contraction. Doesn't matter, though. He'll just stab the Wings in the back and move Columbus over there.

Would anybody be interested in buying a set of seats from the old Olympia? My son bought them about three years ago and has never had anyplace to put them except in one of my sheds where they sit to this day. Iasked him recently what he was going to do with them and he said, probably try and sell them since he has no place in his apt for them and I'm tired of them taking up space at my house. There's three of them, all attached and are in really good shape. I believe they were from the more expensive sections of the stadium since they are a nice red cloth. There are no tears or rips in the cloth at all, just a little dirty and/or dusty. I think there's an armrest missing on one of the end seats, which are numbered 7, 8 and, 9. The framing is in good shape, with a little rust on the bottom of the legs and the seat backs are a heavy duty plastic. I'm not sure what he wants for them. I think he might want about $100 or best offer for them. And as far as I know, he doesn't have a letter of authemticity with them but, I could be wrong. But, they are Olympis seats, you can tell that by looking at them. Where else would have red seats like these.

I believe they do that in order for Teppo's salary to not count against the cap. The Ducks did the same thing regarding Neidermayer.

He should come through it ok, I did. His is a little different than mine. That is, if it's a dilated aorta. I was told a few years back that I had a heart murmur and it was causing a condition called cardiomyapathy. With me, the Septal muscle inside the heart became enlarged and interfered with blood flowing out of the heart. Medication controlled it for a few years but, it got worse back in April and in May, I had open heart surgery to fix it and now, things are much better. No more, tightness in the chest, dizziness, passing out. Now I'm 60 yrs old and got through it fine. Teppo is a world class athlete and should pull through this just fine. Plus, you would be surprised what they can do with heart surgery now. I was in the hospital for 5 days, counting the surgery day and now nearly four months later, you'd never know I had it. I can do anything but, I still have to watch certain things, like excersizing in high heat or extreme cold. Teppo should get his health back but, don't be surprised if they tell him he should retire.
