As Wings Fan in Exile said, Hossa would never be traded. If this deal was possible though, I'd do it. The Wings are in desperate need of a solid goaltender, and Luongo without a doubt, would provide such services. The Wings would find ways to makeup for the loss of Hossa's production somehow. Sometimes I wonder if Hossa being on the team has somehow ruined the chemistry makeup of this team.

It's a shame to hear that the ratings are down 21%. I sort of wonder if the presidential election had anything to do with it. People were probably tuning into news channels more often to get their daily brain food from networks like CNN, MSNBC, or Faux News.

I'm sorry, but with the performance Hasek gave in the 2002 playoffs, I have a hard time seeing how it was a mistake to bring Hasek back over Joseph. Hasek is significantly better than Joseph, and was a proven winner. It was unfortunate he got injured, and it's easier to say after the facts that it was a mistake. It wasn't a mistake at the time, regardless of how awkward it was for Joseph to be signed to Detroit. It's all about having the best chance to win, and Hasek (if he stayed healthy) probably would have given the Wings a better chance to win.

Hudler was great. Oh man, that had to be the highlight of the day right there.

Definitely Nashville. The whole deal with the back to back goals and what not was becoming so frustrating, and I can't imagine how our guys felt when that whole ordeal was happening. They gave us a run for our money, and could have won that series. We were fortunate to win game five at home in OT, and were able to squeak out a win in Nashville in game six. Game six was so tough - looking back at it, you have to wonder without Lidstrom's center ice goal how things could have been oh so different. Pittsburgh was our second toughest IMO, it just seemed like they were a very fortunate team. They got a lot of the calls, and were fortunate to even take the series to six games. The Wings shut down Crosby and Malkin for the majority of the series, but got into some trouble when other Pens (ex: Hossa) started to pick up the slack offensively. Colorado was our weakest opponent, and credit that to the majority of injuries they had. Dallas gave us a bit of a fight, but it still wasn't as tight as the Nashville series. Ellis was tougher to beat than Turco.
