St. Louis lost to Phoenix in regulation, 2-1. Nashville is losing to Calgary after two, 3-0. So even if things don't work out tonight for the Wings, it's not all bad news It would be nice to gain some more ground though.

Eh, really - the way the Wings are playing, there is absolutely no need Drake should be in the lineup. I'd be disappointed if Downey was taken out of the lineup, and really I'd like to see Kopecky play more, he seems to be playing better game by game. The Drake = -5 in 8 Games with 1 point Kopecky = +4 in 11 Games with 2 points Really, I'd say until Kopecky becomes notably bad, then just keep the lineup how it is. The Drake can take a seat for now.

Same thing I did. At this point, I'd rather watch college football than watching a game the league is trying to command. You just never saw this crap as often in the old NHL. It's bizarre.

I'm not sure what Babcock was thinking, only playing Downey two minutes in a game against a physical team like Anaheim. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing Downey on the second line with Hudler and Filppula. He could at least make some room for the other two to do something.

All I can say is that if the NHL thinks that type of product (whistle wh*res on ice) will sell, well then they got another thing coming. Then again, it already is failing. Of course when you hear Bettman talk "everything is fine." So much for watching a good hockey game tonight. Maybe I will be able to watch some college hockey soon, now that I got the Big Ten Network. I still don't have Versus though...
