    Versus Schedule released

Yeah, but I would assume Comcast (who owns Versus) is overcharging for such a crummy channel that most providers just say "that's nice." I mean I really can't blame them either, outside of the hockey stuff, I wouldn't imagine many people watch the crap they air.

    2007 Baseball Season

You should've heard Leyland during the postgame conference. He seemed out of it, and lost really. I don't get why he don't give some other guys a chance. For instance, call up Jose Capellan and just try him! The stuff we got going now is not cutting it! Our starters are going to have to start pitching like starters as well! One positive thing though, is the offense. Now hopefully that can carry on through. Things could be worse, but hell - at least we're still in it.

    2007 Baseball Season

No kidding, he seems like he can't pitch an inning without giving up some runs! It's getting way too close for comfort now, with the Yanks and Mariners only a 1/2 game back in the wild card standings. Minnesota is now only 4 1/2 out of the division, and of course Cleveland is on top (barely). Key Remaining Games: - 8 vs Indians (3 Home, 5 Away) - 3 vs Mariners (3 Home) - 6 vs Twins (3 Home, 3 Away) - 8 vs Yankees (4 Home, 4 Away) I know our bullpen hasn't been that much of a problem as our starting pitching and offensive struggles have been as of late. This is a sad figure about our bullpen though. Our bullpen has given up 139 walks combined, and our starters have given up 168 walks combined. There's no reason why your bullpen's amount of walks is anywhere close to the number your starters give up combined!

    2007 Baseball Season

Another tough loss today. So the downward spiral continues. I feel bad for Tata, he pitched well enough to win the game, and our bats fail to show any life once again. I really don't get why Leyland keeps playing Hessman. He should try this lineup: 1B: Casey 2B: Polanco 3B: Inge SS: Guillen DH: Ordonez RF: Rayburn LF: Monroe / Infante C: Pudge / Rabelo Enough with the Hessman experiment. Rayburn can play right field temporarily until Sheff returns to the DH spot, then Maggs can return to right field.

    NHL and ESPN talking

Here's another article on it. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...rts/Television/ I didn't know Bill and Ray were dropped. I already knew about the Brett Hull thing. It also notes less coverage (rather than three regional games, it'll be one game of the best matchup, which I guess isn't a bad idea in NBC's case). I really hope something works out between ESPN and the NHL. The NHL shouldn't be so finicky with ESPN, I mean look what NBC did to their content when a horse racing pre-game show was involved. On top of that, the NHL was generous enough to have a revenue sharing deal in place! Yet NBC still bullied the NHL! The fact is, the NHL took ESPN for granted.

    Hilarious...

...and sadly, any playoff games that go beyond regulation time, will be cut off in favor of reruns of Iron Chef.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

So if it wasn't a money issue, why didn't he tell Holland that he'd like to stay for a suitable price that would allow him to do so (stay an extra year or whatever)? I mean if he's really this big family guy, and was tired of moving. Don't you think he would have taken a pay cut just to settle rather than move to California now? The fact is, that it was a money issue as well. Holland would have gave him a lengthy contract if it was at a cheap price, but obviously that was never going to happen. Holland couldn't create a credible figure for Bertuzzi for a lengthy contract either, due to the uncertainty of the road ahead (i.e. Lidstrom, Zetterberg, etc.), and the uncertainty that remains with Bertuzzi's health as well, and not to mention the possibility of other injuries during the season.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Ditto He's definitely not worth that much money. Bertuzzi really wasn't the same, and I don't think he will suddenly come to his old form with Anaheim. Horrible deal for the Ducks.

    Bettman messed it up!

Do I watch the game [on Versus]? No, because I don't got it! Not all cable companies are willing to pay these high prices which Comcast forks to these other companies for a channel that is probably outdrawn by your local PBS station. Made up problems? I think not, you just don't hear this type of criticism for nothing. This league is starting to get a tweed bit careless, and continues to take their fans they got now for granted. Come on, how do you go from NHL on FOX, ESPN, ABC to NHL on Versus. That's surely telling you something. It doesn't have to be a niche sport either. There were times when the NHL was probably nearly as popular as the NBA at times in the past. Now the NHL has bowed out and in the gutter they go. There's nowhere to go but up to be honest. Face it, the league chooses money over fans. Declining ESPN was evident of that. Instead of getting less pregame/postgame coverage, they cut a significant amount of the fans in the US from getting national games. It's just sick.

Anaheim not exactly the new Hockeytown

I have to say I'm a bit shocked something like that came from NHL.com

    Nashville Staying put!

Well I wasn't expecting Bettman to say "Oh and yeah unfortunately, Nashville might be moving." This guy will say anything to just to church up the NHL's image. How can I really respect somebody who still thinks that there's a heated rivalry between Colorado and Detroit to this date, and is supposed to be the commissioner! We shall see. I just don't trust Bettman's words at this point.

    Robert Lang

Even though Lang likely wont return, he sure left some good memories behind. Heck without him, we may have not of even gotten out of the first round to begin with. He sure was clutch though. The goal to even things up in game six of the quarterfinals against Calgary was huge. Without that, we probably go to a game seven where anything happens. Then he scores that goal which also lead to the series turnaround against the Sharks. As far as I'm concerned, Robert Lang was the guy who gave our team a second chance in the postseason.

Of course I will, unless NBC decides to put horse racing or something on. You never know...

    2007 WCF Post-GAME 6: Ducks 4, Red Wings 3

Of course it's always disappointing when your team is out. It doesn't hurt much this year. At least not to me anyhow. This team wasn't expected to do much. Heck we were counted out against Calgary to some degree, and then completely counted out against San Jose. On top of that, we were told we probably wouldn't even win our division and yet we did.
