You know, I know a lot of people might bash you for that comment. BUT had we lost the game by one, all of a sudden Hasek's free goal looks a lot bigger. I'm sure there would be a ton of people bashing Hasek if we did lose. He had no business doing what he did this afternoon. You simply cannot afford to give up free goals in the playoffs, and especially against the Sharks. That aside, he played a great game despite clowning around behind the net.

It was a wise move by Kenny. By settling the contract, he [Datsyuk] knows the organization has confidence in him. It's paying off, and even if the Wings get knocked out - it was still a good move since he's producing in the playoffs.

The end of this game reminded me of that game at Calgary, where the crowd went nuts and the Flames essentially suffocated the Wings in their own zone until time expired.

I wasn't able to see the game (since the NHL choose money over the fans by choosing Versus and only showing it to about 1/8 the nation), but I listened to the radio feed. That was really sad. I don't remember the Joe ever being that quiet in a long time. Seems like the hype and momentum of the NHL Playoffs in general has disappeared. It isn't what it used to be. As for playoff ticket prices and fan reaction, well Illitch shouldn't be too shocked.
