    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

I think we do need to give some credit to the Flames. They played a much better game compared to their performance in games one and two. They really pressured our guys on all situations. They did a good job killing penalties, and making sure they didn't get any shots close in for the most part. You have to admire Cleary's play, he played real hard out there, unlike some popular players on the second line who provided a lackluster effort. How about Draper? He nearly had a hat trick and then some! What a game from him. It was nice to see him finally get rewarded for working hard in front of the net. I thought Bertuzzi was average at best, though it was his first game of the postseason following that slight concussion. He'll gel in eventually. He did make some nice hits though. I didn't really expect him to be instantly superior though, but lets just hope he gets back to his game. The best news is that we're still scoring, and we hit the post a couple times. So lets hope we bury our chances tomorrow, and take a stranglehold on this series.

GAME 3: (4/17) Red Wings @ Flames (LIVE)

Oh well, we still have the series lead. It was a bad idea to tweak the chemistry though. There really was no reason to.

Babcock already did a good job with that by scratching a hard worker and keeping Lang Jr. in there. I know people are probably tired of hearing about it but I just can't get over that decision.

Bertuzzi is in. I still don't get why they are gonna scratch Hudler from the lineup. :nonono:

    Kara Yario suggests...

What an absolute joke! I can't imagine how anybody could agree that it should be possible for a team to win the Stanley Cup based on a freaking shootout. You win the championship as a team working together, not by this gimmicky shootout that really only belongs in the All-Star game probably. I understand her point about if the shootout can eliminate teams in the regular season, then it should be good enough for the postseason. It's not though. It's your teams fault if you can't win the game in regulation or OT and end up in the shootout in the regular season. The only reason why the shootout is in the regular season is to actually determine a winner. You can't have continous OT in the regular season. It would fatigue too many teams, and throw off the schedule. Continuous OT is what adds fuel to the fire in the playoffs. It's one of the things that makes it so special actually. Sure it can be crappy when you have to wakeup early and you have these long nights. It's something you love and can hate. Though if you're a hockey fan, you'll learn to appreciate these games I can assure you!

1270am: Regehr OUT for Game 3

That's quite a loss for Calgary. He is one of their defensive backbones. This does help the Wings quite a bit, but Calgary is going to come out of the gates ready tonight regardless.
