we may disagree on issues but let's not get personal.

I'm so mad at Hasek right now. It is not enough to start Ozzie next game. We need to jettison Hasek's old sorry ass out to space.
-
bye Hasek thanks for everything

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that guy walking down the isle. Players probably thought 'god this is the lameist thing I've ever seen. we are screwed tonight' and that malfunctioned mic was just gold. hahahaha

1-2-2 sucks in away game in playoff. we are just letting other team find the holes in our defense and let them gain their momentum until we break down. I read couple news article about why players think we lost last night. They were saying 'oh we gotta do this better' 'gotta be smarter' 'better defensivly' you know what. IT DOESN'T MATTER! do you think Lilja intend to give puck away to Selanee last season? do you think it isn't going to happen again? It happened because NOT what we didn't do well but it happened because what other team forced us to do. We might think our team has impenatrable defense but when the season is on the line, people will try their best to beat the system run by people. Another thing, we start to lose momentum by going to defensive stance. While this allows other team to gain morale and energy (which is more dumb in away game in playoff hockey because they are going to get momentum even when they are not doing anything due to crowds. taking the crowd out of the game is also important) If we are going to shut down mode, we should be way more active. It seemed like we are taking away their space and trying to be sound positionaly. However we are not taking away their time. We have to be right on top of loose pucks and keep hitting them. IMHO this is the only area Lidstrom is lacking little bit and I think it is taking effect on our team somewhat. TAKE THE BODY Anyway sitting back could have worked .. maybe not. It didn't work last night and we got burned. So here is my bash.

you maybe right. Because Wings have a luxury of doing that by taking first 2 games of the series. just to make it clear, I'm not saying Hasek isn't a great goalie. Just upset that he bombed (IMO) tonight.

ok .. i'm even more cooled now and from the looks of it some of you aren't happy with what I wrote before so I'll try to write it out better. 1) noone here thinks Hasek is the sole reason Wings lost. We all know it's a team game so stop trying to paint people in that angle. Because you end up looking like people you describe. (I'll assume that noone here is that stupid) 2) Hasek was doing great. I agree. Until that tying goal. Give me a fing break. It's not like he was shutting out predators until that goal neither. Every goalie is brilliant in playoff to some degree. If he was stopping puck like Giguere last year, I think people wouldn't be so bitter that Hasek let in that softiest of soft shot. 3) This is online sports fan forum and this is where fans come to criticize about the game and performance. Get off your high horse and how about start giving more respect to people who have different opinion. Just because he doesn't think Hasek was great and should be kicked out of this club doesn't mean he is a bad fan or idiot... ok maybe he is an idiot. Nobody is right or wrong. It's just different opinions coming together. I forgot to put IMHO somewhere in there, put em as you wish.

Ok i'm cooled down so I'll make it short. Hasek had to.. he just had to stop that friggin shot. There is just no other reason for it. He HAD to have that. Actually he doesn't have to... just like he doesn't have to play hockey in postseason and decide to play golf. That is my take and anyone who tell me to shut up. I don't have to show respect to people who don't give me any so here we go : go ahead and take your own advice thank you.

The third goal was absolutely inexcusable. I'm so mad right now to try to explain why that is.... wow what a friggin stinker that one Hasek let in. I can't think logically right now so I'll be back later

In 5-5, I think anyone should be allowed to do that because chances are, shots are coming at you 90mph and you have no idea it is coming. Very dangerous play. However, I think it is worthy of game misconduct if your team is already on powerplay. (Esp 5-3)

My favorite game of the season was when we dismantled Sharks 5-1 or something beginining of the season. We looked so unstoppable and destroyed Sharks' will to fight back. I think that game was sort of a turning point where we started to believe we were trurly elites and could do something special this season.

Firstly, if anything I thought Doc & co were pretty neutral for the whole game. If you thought that was biased, just watch TSN coverage of Wings game. You will find a new meaning of biased media. Secondly, I think this game was as good as it is going to be in first round, intensity wise, against Nashvile Lastly, it is still possible for Wings to come out of this series looking good.

let's go out and hunt down some large cats.

You know I was reading 'Ducks not enough passion' thread and it occurred to me that we aren't that different from Ducks in a sense that we didn't show enough passion or intensity beginning of the game. (hello aren't you maybe TOO relaxed?) I was pleasantly surprised some of the players like Z showed up with a lot of Heart and carried the team literally. However it really reinforced my concern that Wings just don't have enough heart and motives to win it this year maybe. In 1997, I knew we were going to win that year before the season even begun. I don't know how but I just knew we were going to win it because Wings were so hungry after being so close for so many years and the reason to pay back to Avs. I also had a strong feeling that we were going to win in 1998 due to Vladdie and in 2002 when I heard Dom and Hull were signed and coming to Detroit. This year, not really. There really aren't many motives for Wings to win it. I thought we had a strong chance to win after we started this season with such great determinations... now that feeling is mostly gone after watching our lackluster heart at the end of the season. If we had an absolutely impenetrable goalie .. maybe but I think Dom is too old to carry our unmotivated team to Stanley Cup. IMO you can talk about how much you want to win for million times but no matter how hard you try, you can't fake yourself. I just don't think that Wings are hungry enough to win it all this year. I think they gotta find any reason to motivate themselves. I dunno.. maybe they want to prove they are not soft euros or a team only good for regular season. Maybe things will pickup as we go deeper in playoff, I don't know. I seriously hope I'm wrong. I know Wings won last night and with score of 3-1. I'm not expecting Wings to win 10-0 or 5-0.. not even 1-0. All I want is Wings to show some Heart and worker like attitude they showed in the beginning of the season. Because everyone in the world already knows Wings are smart and skilled, if they have heart to go along with it and outwork other team, Wings will be unstoppable again. You can call me pessimist or whatever you want but last time I checked pessimists were right since 2002. Now that I have managed to insult 80% of the board and don my firesuit, I await oncoming flames.

What I'm saying is, there are different levels of 'wanting it'.

I was so mad beyond belief and of course my centre ice feed was blocked due to TSN coverage. I was wondering 'what if this was Montreal - Boston game and they screwed up like tonight, boy there is going to be another riot in Montreal right now.' BTW I can tell you if it was Wings, not sharks, who lost to Flames in opening game, TSN would be all over how Wings are soft euros. Instead they go onto say oh Sharks will win the series because they have too much character... CHARACTER? are you kidding me? what have Sharks done in playoff in their entire existence? oh i get it it's because they have more Canadians.. that must be it.

by full house i meant 'it looked empty' because I thought couple early posters were being sarcastic. I guess I was wrong to me, the building looked so empty.
-
It was little disappointing to see the full house tonight I don't live in Detroit but I hear about city's struggle. I guess it is really taking toll on people.
-
this is so infuriating thank you very *ucking much TSN
-
I'm getting very impatient now. I wish I was playing so that I can .... never mind not a good idea. Let's go Red Wings, make us proud

It really warms small part of my heart that Sergei is doing well and having fun again. He deserves to go out with a Bang
