Sammy and Hasek sucked today Stuart and Z played amazing. I feel so stupid after saying Z might have a problem with his back. It might be a good idea to start fast and avoid playing catching up after giving other team all the momentum in the world.

Sammy was pretty incompetant today. One thing I'm always not happy with Sammy is that he hesitates too much. He always shoots half second too late or overhandles the puck or passes too late etc. He's gotta keep his game simple and execute faster. If he can't do that, he is just detrimental to our play.

nah I don't expect Wings to demolish everyteam during regular season. I was watching our previous games against Ducks and how Hitting played such a huge role in those games. When we won in Anaheim 2-0 we didn't back down from physical aspect of the game at all and we earned the momentum which lead to better execution of plays When we lost last time at Joe, I thought we kinda backed down after first few minute and they really took it to us the whole game. We had trouble connecting the passes and flat out we got outplayed (and out reffed) I mean how many times have we seen this before when players say 'we know what we have to do and gotta play well' and come out with zero passion. It is one thing to loosen up before the big games but you gotta keep the focus to win at any cost and sacrifice the bodies. As for SJ vs Ducks, I prefer Stars vs Ducks because statistically Stars match up better against Ducks and I think SJ is the lesser team of those big 3.

I was thinking the exactly same. I almost fell asleep during the game. I was thinking at the half way 'Are we purposely avoiding 1st place or want Nashville as our first round opponent by semi tanking?' well I hope Wing do pick up the slacks and start hitting some bodies soon because if we played Ducks or Stars today we would have been smoked.

Let's get this out of the way first, yes he played very very well last night . Ok what do you guys think about Z's back? I'm sure some of you have noticed already that his steps seem to be heavier than before. I just watched Z's plays from begining of the season and last year where he was much more dynamic and I am wondering if his back is bothering him alot. I'm pretty sure Z has talked to our training staffs before making decision to play again but I'm worried sometimes because he usually turns his back to hold on to puck and seems to take a lot of punishment to his already questionable back. Do you think he is playing injured? or maybe have one of those customized kevlar back protector?

As much as I hate Pronger, I really don't think he will get 30 games. I would suspend him remainder of the season + 1st round of playoff

I don't really think you can compare players from different era. The game has changed alot as well ... but to answer the original question, our D is better than what Avs had in 2000 (or was it 2001) I watched Ducks quite a few times this season and I think their D are very good as well. In terms of pure defensive awareness, our D men are better IMO. However Ducks play a different style and they are very effective in their own way.

I don't know where is the overreaction other than your comment. Isn't this his third time getting injured this season? How are you sure that he will be 100% during playoff battles? It is going to be 1 goal games during playoffs and he will have to be excellent and sharp every single game. If he isn't going to be 100% then there is no sense of getting dom ready for the playoff IMO. Begining of the season, I was the one who supported Babcock to go with Hasek in playoff but If Hasek can't keep himself healthy, then Red Wings gotta consider going with plan B.

That is what I was saying. He used to skate very effortlessly and he used his feet more than his stickhandling or passing, now he just tries to beat defender with stick and his acceleration isn't just the same. With amount of point cushion Red Wings have right now, I think getting as close to 100% before the playoff is also important. Especially Z for the said reason.

Give me a break already. I had a very little confidence that Hasek could endure playoff rigor before and now I have zero.

You really do have a lovely sister LivingtheDream. Anyway Pavel is really taking it to another level this year. I think last year's experience and 'A' letter on his jersey really helped him to develop as a leader. The thing I'm really impressed about Pavel this year is that he looks so incredibly focused a lot of times. I rarely see any player looks so poised and hungry like that.

After his first game, he seemed to tone down little bit and looking to be in adjustment period. He's been very steady and solid but it is too early to tell how good he can be until he figures it out.

Last night's game made me realize that goons don't take abusing well and will self implode. maybe we should deliver some cheap shots when refs aren't looking so they shoot themselves in the foot.

I would like to know why Blues are getting away with Murder and we get called for absolutely nothing. The refs are ******* joke if they think they are earning their paycheck.
