oh man I hate when Wings are trying to skill it through without working hard. It reminds me of Oilers and Flames series
-
that BS call completly demoralized Wings, they are just going through motions right now
-
what a BS call. Refs are really trying hard to bring down the league as a joke this month. They need to be better trained because they look very incapable for NHL games.
-
Red Wings play Blue Jackets 3 times this month. If I were CBJ GM and my team was fighting for playoff spot on deadline day, I wouldn't do the deal for that fact of matter alone.

Let's get it done!

how about showing some respect for fellow memebers?

Of course we want to utilize Rafi as much as we can but the idea behind splitting Rafi and Lid is to be more effective against big fast guys battling along the board. It is no secret Ducks and to some extend Sharks are gonna Crash the net, they will have 3 or as many as 4 guys around the net making crease cross pass or waiting for a rebound. Can Lid and Raf able to contain Bertuzzi and co around the net for half a game? Sure why not? But personally I like the sound of Lid + Stuy more. I'm not saying we should go split Rafi and Lid RIGHT NOW because we gonna get swept in first round, it's just that If we have an ability to stretch other teams' defense with outlet pass coming from every defesive pairing, it might change the makeup of the series and give more operating room for our players, while we have decent chance to go toe to toe physically against any opposition line. ps actually come to think about it, I don't know anything about Stuart.. so forget what I said lol

I agree that Lilja is somewhat of liability of those starting 6 but if you actually read what I wrote you might have some idea about why some people might come up with idea like putting 5 russian players on a same line.
-
I'm thinking about breaking up Lid - Raf pairing against some big forchecking teams how bout Lid - Stu Kron - Lil (swede line - better communication between them plus I thought the pairing was good before) Raf - Cheli (american line) every line having one who can play the board and other one who can direct the play oh btw Ericsson should go down to minor IMO.

I see Flames taking over Wild for their division, seeing last stretch of the season is mostly divisional matchups and Minesota doesn't fare well against their division. Also Colorado will move up a spot or two I think so final standing might look something like this 1. Detroit vs 8. Vancouver 2. Dallas vs 7. Colorado 3. Calgary vs 6. Minesota 4. Anaheim vs 5. San Jose

Matby firing a bullet from right circle off one timer = goal
-
I don't know why but I'm just not that fired up tonight. My only concern at this point is we might go on another winning streak and burnt out before the playoff starts. Pav and Z looked like they need a rest or something. anyway good game overall.

Downey playing amazing tonight

I've had a problem with CI online but I fixed it with few driver updates (or downgrading the driver) Also I meddled with Windows Media Player setting and now everything's fine.

maybe the soccer analogy was bad.. but i don't follow soccer so.

I don't think it is as simple as that. Most european players, when they grow up, Stanely Cup means very little. Think about you being a soccer player growing up in NA, which would you more appreciate, World Cup for your country or Champions League with your club in Europe? World Cup means so much more than Champions League title to your home country people. However, when you are good enough to be a captain of the storied European soccer club.. say Machester United, or Real Madrid, you would try your best to be a model citizen not only for benefit of the club but because how you react kind of reflects on your home country as well. I think everyone has different reason to be loyal to a club. In Sundin's case, I think he really took pride in a fact that he is the captain of Toronto Maple Leafs, arguably one of the most storied hockey franchise in the world. Also when Sundin first came to toronto via Wendel Clark trade, a lot of people didn't really approve Sundin because Clark was a very very popular figure in Toronto. Sundin might have tried really hard to be accepted as well and thus laying the ground for strong loyalty he is showing now. His club is struggling right now and Sundin probably felt he needed to be a better leader and lead his team to playoff. Jumping off the ship, leaving your crews behind when the sinking is imminent is not what any honorable captain would do. Sundin is a very honorable man and an outstanding person. I live in Toronto, I hear about him all the times everywhere, I would know. As for Nick, he is a saint. What more can there be said? I hope he plays until 50s.

but even with those players who can only perform well with our grand master Lidstrom in lineup, we are still the best team in the league IMO.
-
yes that's exactly what I meant by 'what we are made of'. I hope this recent stretch plays a part in players negotiatoin this spring.
-
Last couple games our players did try but we just didn't have enough talents to win some hockey games. Do you think Ducks will be able to fare any better without Pronger and Nidermayer? I don't care how tough those Ducks are or how mighty their offense is but we will own them so easy it wouldn't even be funny.

I said this many many times today but I'll say it again : we are still the best team when everyone comes back During this horrific injury stretch, I think we are finding out what we are really made of. I mean I've never knew how great each of our D men were until we had all of them shelved. Watching Kronner comes back tonight and immeditely stabilizing our whole team really made me appreciate our D.
-
we looked pretty ok I think. Like I said, I think we are still the best team in NHL when everyone comes back. couple points about tonight - Ericsson should not start any games for us this spring. He is too green and can't keep up with NHL speed. Best to get him ready for it with 82 regular season game next year. Also he looks pretty weak getting pushed around left and right. If you are a big guy and you get pushed around, it gives other team more confidence. - Hasek looked like 40 yr old man trying to hold on for life. IMO he had no confidence in his game tonight. - Looks like Filppula is getting ready for playoff, man I hope pittsburg is happy with Hossa out with MCL. - Our whole team looked alot better by just having Kronner and Stuart, they really were like big brothers watching over our team. - Can't wait for other D men to come back (and watch people jumping onto our bandwagon again)
-
I'm very happy that we got Stuart
-
I think we are plaing way way better than by just having kronner back. This really gives me confidence that Wings are still the team to beat.
-
wow I like Stuart already and he hasnt even played 1 period for us yet
