But He will probably have a heavy price tag. I'm thinking in line of Filp or Huds. Thinking about it I think a draft pick and depth Defenseman will be more than enough to get any of Ruutu or Lapointe looking at their stat. and no, I don't think Lapointe is injured right now

Strictly from management point of view, I look at it as very low risk move with somewhat high reward. What have we got to lose by signing him anyway? From a fan point of view, wow we gonna destroy everyone in our path now. Stanley Cup here we come.

It's just that some Leafs fans got caught up with all those 'draft pick and prospect' hype generated by TSN. They are just feeling a strong sense of denial When suddenly that delusion has been snatched away. Seriously, did anyone think we were gonna give up anything useful to Leafs for his 3 month service? yet Leafs fans somehow thought they would get Kronwall out of him makes you realize how far they were from reality. If they were to trade away their identity and send all the wrong messages from the top, they were heading to become another case of New York Rangers anyway, so I think in hindsight, this might turn out to be a good move.

Lapointe (we need this guy, much more so than any other team) : pick or maybe someone traderable down in farm. I would go so much to put Huds in the deal and get Lapointe plus a pick in return. Stuart (would be very nice but if too expensive, let someone else pay the price) : this guy probably has a unreasonable price tag. We already gave LA a free gift in Ellis, offer Meech or Leb or Quincey and maybe a pick. LA might have need for Goalies, send someone in the farm Hossa (only if we can sign him long term) : Filp and meech or Leb. if it doesnt work, Huds for the deal clincher.

I agree with the report that he is an ultimate project player. What makes it promising is that he's got all the tools and he is a smart player. Just goes to show you how good our scouting management team is. I really wish Fisher was around to show him some tricks and mindset to play like a big D man in NHL. we never had secondary scoring In my opinion, our D men made it look like we could score with all 4 lines. Without them, even our first line is struggling to score.

yeah Ericsson needs more seasoning but when we are healthy it's not like he's gonna be our PP man anyway. If Cheli can make Lebda looking like a solid NHL D man, he will probably do the same for Ericsson. Beside we could use all the size we can get.
