that's an interesting idea

He's M Jordan of hockey defence and you know how Bulls struggled after MJ gone. Kenny H will have a tough time putting the team together

IMO Pavel is a tactician much like Lidstrom. He is always aware of the situation and he dictates the game by limiting oppositions options (or set up sneaky traps) ... so that the game works to his favour. I don't think Flip's game is much like Pavel. Obviously Flip has his own game plan but I think he is little closer to Z than Pavel...in a way that skating is central to Flips game. Though, it never hurts to learn a thing or two from Pavel. Flip is blessed to have that kind of opportunity so why waste it?

It's a beautiful thing I guess Dmac is in the squad for sure and just waiting for things to clear up.

I'm about to burst in excitment myself. I expect a lot of good things in real life as well so... ahhh yes, this is going to be a good year. It's gonna be tough, but I'm gonna really enjoy this year. Hope you guys do too.

Because when you win, you got nothing to prove. Also when you are the champion, everyone is waiting to beat you down. It does take a toll mentally and physically.

I'm sure NHL08 has an internal programming that prevents such a ridiculous thing to take place. Even if Keith amasses tons of points and all, Lidstrom will automatically win because Kieth plays for Chicago. We all know nobody cares about chicago.

For me, being a sports fan is having a biased persepective and be proud of it. To hell with political correctness.

Howard has shown that he can be solid but then again, he hasnt done anything to prove that Wings should have kept him over Osgood and Hasek. Personally I thought he choked little bit when he was called up last season.. if he can just block out anxiety and whatever from his mind, I think he will be a GREAT goalie for us. Well I haven't seen Conklin play other than odd clips here and there but my gut feeling says Howard is going down to GR this season. However, with slight change in equipment regulation and all, who knows what's going to happen after camp and during season? I will be happy whoever gets the No1 job or No2, as long as he gives our team chance to win and save whatever he's supposed to save. (I know.. easier said than done in detroit)

What makes the Red Wing's organization worth taking less money
Yemack replied to RedWingsLaw's topic in General
if you were to take less money and go to Detroit, why would you do it? My reason would be that I can have fun! while making millions dollars whereas in some other team, it's just business and I would have tougher time getting out of the bed. Why is it fun to play in Wings uniform? Mostly because they win all the times and they do things the right way. -
NHL94 I wanted to pick BlackHawks but got stuck with Wings. I hope my Hawks fan friend enjoyed watching NHL as I did.

er.. I wasnt born in north america. I know what it's like in outside the world where people have to deal with things being taken away fairly and unfairly. However, having said that, if Radulov had such a patriotic heart, he didn't have to sign with Preds in a first place and should have played in Russian league instead. No russian mafia put a gun in his head when he made that decision. He wasn't snatched away by Preds against his will neither. It was his choice, a russian hockey fan's choice to play over here for whatever reason. Did NHL somehow kidnap Malkin and Ovechkin from Russia? No, they flew out on their own choice. Do I blame them? No. People do what is best for them. If Radulov really wanted to do what is right, he should have honoured his fans in Nashville and said 'I'm sorry but I want to go play in Russia for such reasons blah blah, it was such a great memory getting asswhooped by Wings blah blah' rather than flee like the exact same robber he described and make a backstab comment to his former club and spare some BS comments As a young russian hockey fan, one might feel like Ovechkin, Malkin and Datsyuk were snatched away by these evil money machines from NHL but the reality is quite different. They walked out on their own and making Russia proud in world's best stage. If Ovechkin walked out of his $10M contract to play in Russia for less money.. It would be more convincing. Radulov? who cares about that punk. Let him earn some $3M tax free money in Russia because noone's gonna miss him.
-
That is a very sensitive comment Radulov (or whoever) made because there is a power game going on betw/ Russia and US right now. It is true though a lot of russian stars left the country for their career. If a russian hockey fan made that comment it would be more understandable but Radulov is in no position to make such comment. But again, this isn't the first time I've read some outragous comment in the news. Well I don't want to turn this into a politic thread so I'll end it here.

Relax people, the season is not here yet. we will have plenty opportunities to have goalie threads and go crazy each other. I think it is kinda cool to see the military escort for Stanley Cup.

He will win next year's award as well as brining Stanley to Slovakia. Get your parade ready

I don't blame Scotty and I'm happy for all that he has done for us. In fact, I wish him and his son the best. Doesn't mean I like him now
-
this reminds me of the final scene in 'Any Given Sunday' where the coach leads a team to dramatic championship and in his press conference to announce to his supposed retirement, he goes on to say he was hired by some other club. I bet Scotty was inspired by that and thought 'you know what that's so cool ... i'm so gonna do that. here I come Hawks'
-
This can't be real.
-
I tend to agree alot w/ Bettmen on alot of issues.
-
let's face it, Wings are sports cars and while they are very versatile they might not be most comfortable to play in destruction derby brand of hockey for 82 games. IMO, having enforcers more or less turn the game into Wings favour during regular season.
-
only way we fit all of them together is for someone to take less. I didn't read CBA but I'm 200% sure the penalty will be extremely severe (could results in COUPLE 1st round pick, damaged reputation, labeled as cheater etc) if someone is caught doing that. How about a more realistic approach? someone takes a 1 year contract with less money and a compensated long term contract a year after that? edit: i only read first 2 sentence of OP's post. never mind

I would like to.. but I'm gonna go watch Dark Knight. Studied till 4 am last night for it.
