really? cause pierre mcguire is one of very few that I have no problem with. Although he is very biased and maybe consider himself too smart, I think he looks at the game pretty fairly. He doesn't watch Wings game all the time so sometimes he doesn't know what hes talking about (too many generalizations) but I could agree with him for most part. Anyway I think we put in nice effort and played well. Also had couple very good scoring chances in a 1 goal game so it looks like it's definately turning around but of course it's always frustrating to watch your team lose. I thought our line juggle worked quite well for first part, also nice to see Drake starting to play noticeably better as of late. Im slowly starting to see why we picked him up. Anyhow, Wings have a game tomorrow so I don't have to wait 1-2 days to watch wings game again.

Hes looking better and better every game. he performance was pretty solid today IMO He looked alot bigger tonight and look confident. but Osgood is way more refined and he just knows so much more about how to go about doing things in NHL. Howard is good but he needs more experience and adjust to NHL speed.

it will be tough with all the injuries but I have a good feeling that we will start to turn around Hopefully Howard can hold it together. Go Wings!

it seems to me that he is having problem with controlling the puck/ receiving the pass. He needs to be more poised not trying to go kamikaze mode

Maybe I should be just happy that Wings are constantly good at regular season and not complain one bit so I can laugh at people being passionate about their team. Well that sounds about right

Did anyone see Hudler got instant confidence boost after his shot? maybe he should position himself to become a shooter more and evolve his game towards it because while he looks like a smart player, passing game does make him pretty useless. Overall I thought we tried to play better from last game but Columbus played for their life last night and we just didn't have answer for it. I think that we are stuck in begining to middle of the regular season level of hockey while some others are fighting for their survival. IMO Columbus played spectaculary well. I think they played better than Ducks last night. My real concern is our size and brute strength. Columbus really made us pay in that department last night IMO. And we really don't have a good shooter. We have too curve ball throwers and no straight shooter, no wonder why some of goalies play so well against us. That's why I want Lapointe back in Wings. It will provide us girt, strength, leadership, also throw oposition goalies off and keep him guessing.

I would actually vouch for starting Howard against Stars

guys calm down it is not Hossa who is going to make deal in 15 days. He can sign with us all he wants during offseason but it is up to Atlanta how pricey it is going to be 'right now'. Frankly, I don't see Hossa coming to Wings this season or next due to his salary. (unless we let Cleary go and Hossa takes a ridiculous amount of paycut) I miss pre cap era sometimes.

What did you guys think of him? I kinda wished he utilizes his size more to look big and maybe little less dramatic but overall I think he did everything we could ask him for tonight. I think if he can hone his craft little more and get little more confidence in NHL level, he might be a real solid goalie for us in future.

we all have to remember this is his 2nd season, he is not gonna out smart other teams defense everytime. However when he plays with intensity and in higher pace, we can cleary see hes got a special package inside him. This team is just coastin right now, and Filp doesn't have enough experience or leadership to take it to another level at times like this. That is my take

how about work hard to earn victory? The way I see is that Wings are almost started thinking they are the team to beat and also Stanley Cup champ last spring. I don't mind letting up little bit now to save some mental energy for our final push for playoff but we have to remember we have got to work hard and move faster to get wins.

oh my god, where is the Red Wings that was the hardest working team in the league from the start of the season? Do they look at the standing too much and thinking 'man we are just too damn good and too smart, we gonna put on a show and they will never even touch the puck' and we pass the puck way too friggin much! I am watching Wings power play and I know where the pucks will go next most of the time! other teams are just covering our players and voila puck comes to them automatically. maybe part of it is that other team has figured out our system a bit but we rely on it way too much time. You are NHL players! Fight through and drive to the friggin net! I will say this again again and again, we can have all the talents in the world but if we dont work hard we have a very good chance of losing out in first round. Usually it is someone who wants more win in the end.

I think Preds are playing with absolutely amazing intensity with their crazy fans behind it. We just did not expect this. I don't think one or two quick fix is going to win us the game, we gotta match their intensity
