and besides Ovechkin scored those kind of goals alot of times agianst, top goalies like Brodeur so stop using your broken logic to bash Dom. Just say he sucks we understand
-
give it a rest already, we are not playing well as a team

IMO Selanee will NOT be coming back despite of how much he himself wants to return. Duck's can not accomodate him without screwing up their salary structure and future assets I am worried about Niedermayer tho. IF ducks do win again this year, Niede will retire, end of story but what if they don't quite make it? I think Nied's competitive side will kick in and will return trying to help the team get to the top again.

with his history, my guess is that it is going to be 40~50 games

Some part of me wants to see Kopecky in 1st line. If not for the whole night, maybe just couple of shifts. He is a big body who can hang on to puck and can finish the play Pav and Z set up. The other part of me is saying he does not play both ends of the ice well. But if I were Babcock, I would try the formula for a change.

It is just pure saddness. It just pains me to see all those empty seats in opening night. Wings really need to address this ASAP btw nice pics

I actually think Fedorov might work out. I mean he is very responsible defensibly so he will fit right into our system without long adjusting period. (babcock would love him) Also he has ability to elevate his game when the game gets bigger. He still has nice wheels and can man the blue line if neccessary during powerplay with his wicked slapshot. Finally he knows some ppl in our locker room so he will feel at ease and his time in Detroit was his glory years so maybe we will get more out of him than Columbus. His monster contract ends after this season so it won't hold us down in future. However, will Columbus let him go if they make playoff or even if they don't? and for how much? That is a totally different matter.

I think it's a common sight that new goalie coming into town goes hot for few games. Anyway Glad to see him get a chance and running with it.

Well the title pretty much says it all. I'm really starting to wonder if Rafalski is going to cost a very important game down the road due to his defensive lapses during critical moment of the game. I mean we all know he is very good at holding blue lines and at transition game, but does he have enough defensive side of skills? Maybe there is a reason why NJ let their number 1 defense man walk away? My standard on defense man may be high after watching Lids and Cheli night in and night out, but I'm begining to think if the huge long term contract we gave to him will someday come back to bite us. oh btw, I think Lebda is turning out to be a pretty good D man. And Meech played a pretty poor game tonight if you ask me.

whenever I'm watching games against Nashville, I wish someone like Arnott becomes a Wing.

It is like putting your product on big mall vs small store. True, you will have same core of people wanting the product and buying it regardless of outlets. But your product will have more accessibility and more exposure to general public. Hockey needs to generate some steams in US and it is virtually impossible without the help of ESPN. Having said that, I don't think NHL on ESPN is flat out better than current Versus partnership, since ESPN doesn't treat NHL very well. However, IMO, a major pro sports that is not on ESPN is not really a major pro sports. I'm sure a lot of normal joe would follow this logic as well.

NHL needs ESPN But I wonder if ESPN wants NHL

Wow I've never realized Hurricanes were this fast team. They are very fast team with some skills and sharp shooters. No wonder they are 2nd in East.
-
Canes just dispatched Canadiens rather easily tonight 5-1. Well, we gonna have to keep our mental edge very sharp for this one. Along with the games against, Anaheim, Chicago, Leafs and Senators, this one is going to be a good one. Hope we come out of this one with W.

Gee, legal or not I thought,at least, Hasek would get supports from Red Wings board. I guess I must have walked into Wild's.
-
yeah it's great that finally he is putting them in nets. I hope he realize how dangerous he can be with ALL his skills As for scoring more at centre, I would venture a guess that when being broken up with Z and homer, Datsyuk is THE man on the line so he has more urges to shoot himself whereas in Flying Circus Unit, he likes to be involved in making opponents dizzy and be the set up man. Also I agree that he looks a lot more confident at centre. Anyhow now that we have Dat coming along just fine... if only we can get Sammy going.
-
you know what? I've already stated my opinions so I won't bother saying it again. but you are right on one front, It would be hilarious and awesome to see Howard suddenly kicking butts of both Hasek and Ozzie
-
Finally we are getting somewhere. yes I would absolutely hate to see Ozzie get the boots just because it's Hasek. However, if it comes to that though, I don't think Babcock will ever let that happen As for how we determine who plays better? well I guess everyone will have their own view on this subject but if you ask for mine, I think Hasek in his top form has more upside than what Ozzie has shown so far. Best case scenario for me would be Hasek playing great, on par with last year performance but Ozzie tops it. (well actually I'll just settle for Stanley Cup) Hasek shouldn’t have much to moan about if he can see for himself that Ozzie has surpassed him.
-
so If I'm considered as a Hasek people, our coaching staff must be living in the past as well seeing how they give Hasek start tonight? I'm no Hasek supporter. I've been a loyal Wings fan since 93 and if anything I'm all for Ozzie having a great season. But bottom line is, I want Hasek to find his form again. Yes as for who should start in playoff, whoever plays better and gives us more confidence should be the one, I don't care if it is Hasek, Ozzie or Howard
-
wth? Yes Hasek has played like s*** so far this season but he played great last year playoffs (and a lof of years before that) so our team wants him to get going... see maybe if he still has something left in his tank. What's so difficult to understand? Don't you want everyone in Wings uniform to perform at their best?
-
Well there is no question that Ozzie has been extremely solid so far this season However, Doesn't anyone remember that Hasek was almost a god like last year playoffs? He played with tremendous poise and concentration which I have yet to see from Ozzie. Yes Ozzie might be able to elevate his game as well when given tougher tasks but ,as we all know already, Hasek is a proven former multiple vezina and heart trophy winner and he has done that consistantly throughout his career albeit few mishaps. It is easy to understand why Babcock wants Hasek to get going. Hasek is getting some heat here now, which is fair given his recent poor showing. However let's try to give Hasek some breaks here guys, he definately earned it.

wow after all those tiresome interviews and ppl asking for autographs in supermarket, you would think that player (a superstar player no less) will get sick of those special requests. he is certainly walking the walk alright
-
so I guess it is safe to say we will never get our hands on him. well that sucks
-
Ok Im not saying we have huge problem with goalie department but IF we were to pick him up, it is not entirely impossible. We can probably ask Washington to pick Bryzgalov up and trade pick / prospect for him. I kinda want to see this thing happen because it means we have our future goaltending problem solved.
-
We are not playing at our absolute best but Hawks are playing phenomenally. Who would have thought that out of all teams Hawks would give us this much trouble?
