watched the game against Avs tonight and I was mighty impressed. They are young and unexperienced but they are for real. I would say they are top 5 team in league right now.

watched the game against leafs too what I saw was that Chicago plays very similar style to us. Puck possesion, focusing on winning little battles, puck cycles. Think their GM made good offseason movements and those rookies are flying real high. They really have a team that we should look out IMO However, having said that, they are not what I would call a powerhouse. I would say Nashville last year was more of a threat than Hawks.

I must admit. I thought Scrappers were dying breeds of hockey and fighting doesn't play significant role in hockey anymore. Now I have changed my minds about 'Tough guys' I hope Holland changes his mind to after sharks game. Good to see Downey is also contributing in other areas. He maybe a great addition to our team. I guess this makes Babcock's decision a lot harder about who to dress.

he makes some valid points BUT we dont need 100 min fighter just for the sake of it. We need 100 min role player who can contribute. As for Markov, I liked him and what he brought to our team. But after watching last playoffs where he was caught out of position resulting in many goals we conceited, my view has somewhat changed. It sucks we had to let him go and lose that much of physical presence but we are just too stacked in defence and he made a lot of crucial mistakes last spring.

Players are getting bigger faster, equipments are like weapons in these days.... well Im sure you've heard all that already IMO the technicalities of the hit were NOT what got him 20 but Downie showing absolutely no respect for fellow players was. It's not about being tough and gritty, this guy cleary needs to control his temper and learn some respect and discipline. Beside, the league was trying to send a message and this was the perfect opportunity for it. Anyway I hope Downie learned something from this and comeback strong.

After watching that clip it is fairly obvious to me that Downie went for McAmmond's head, and to cause maximum damage he could possibly make. Downie showed absolutly no respect for fellow players. Play like this doesn't belong in ANY hockey level.

I thought exactly same thing. I think he was the biggest reason why Sens won game 3. All the media talked about Neil but this guy really gave Sens the inspiration in that game. He will look awesome in Wings uniform.

Markov is having one of his worst game in his career. First he draws too many man on the ice penalty and manages to deflect the shot into the net Later, he goes for puck while 2 guys were already on marchant (i dont know why because lidstrom was closer) and boom puck in our net Wow

I love seeing B.B's face turning red and dejected when we hand his team solid ass kicking time and time again. I think he should just say 'ahhh f*ck it, it's em Red Wings, I give up, here you go take the series and please don't mess with my temper' joking aside he is pretty good at what he does, although i don't like his style. Wings don't usually let the chance go by them. We usually come out very strong and very poised when delivering a knockout/critical blow. Altough Ducks aren't easy foe by any stretch, the absence of Pronger will hurt them. This goon has been standing on blue line in game 1 & 2 and been neutralizing our attack into their zone countless times. (we did managed to dump the puck and go past him in game 3) Plus he has been a force during powerplay. I have a very good feeling Wings will come out on top, it will take a lot of effort, sacrifice, and smart hockey but I expect to hear good news by the end of day. Now I'm off to start my pre game rituals GO WINGS!

haha comparing to edmonton dynasty is a bit too far but we certainly have an excellent yet very underrated roster right now But when Nick Lidstrom decides to hang up his skates, I honestly don't know where we would stand. I hope Nick plays until 50 and kronwall, Lebda, Quincy and Co learn as much as possible before he retires. We do have a great tradition and very high esteem going on though

Ottawa I think they deserve their chance going to Stanley Cup Final after many years of trying. This kind of reminds me of mid 90s Wings. They certainly eared their invitation by finally playing as a team and having neccessary mind sets (they've always had enough tools) Also to give media more to write about and build hypes. Seriously, which would create more buzz? Sabres-Wings or Sens-Wings? Dom chased out in Ottawa as quitter, now back with vengeance in the name of Red Wings. Although I never pay much attention to media spin, the whole revenge thing sounds kinda cool to me. Finally Sens are really giving it to Sabres this year, IF Wings do advance to Final, I would want Wings to face the best from East. I think a lot of Senators and eastern conference teams fans will be surprised by Wings playing very very high level of hockey. So we can finally put an end to 'Wings being soft' thing once and for all. However to that to happen, we have to do our part first which looks to be a very tough task (opportunity is certainly there though)

I got your point Dab, but I don't think Im too far fetching by saying McKenzie's been disssing Wings all series. I still dont think he wants to give full credits to Wings, perhaps because of his ego wouldn't allow admit his mistake, or maybe not happy being called ducks biased by other panel memeber (I think the phrase was 'under brian burke's payroll') or maybe he is just a puppet who says things majority of the views want to listen I could be wrong but honestly I think he is being lilttle childish about not wanting to admit his own mistake. Like I said I usually agree with his opinion on many issues but when he acts unprofessionaly it is very hard to respect his input.

I heard about LA area being worst in traffic jam because of its joke transit system. Read an article about people who has been living in LA for 10 years and never knew subway existed, its that bad? They said because noone uses it, they are horribly under funded which in turns create worse service and so on so forth.

Anyone who knows fast paced tight-checking-give-em-nothing hockey would disagree with Bob (just listen to other TSN crews who actually have played in NHL, they've always praised Red Wings and their ability) Honestly I dont put much stock in his opinion, he usually gets it right during regular seasons but I don't think he knows much about more complex strategical side of hockey. Neutral zone coverage, transition plan, defensive assignments and such. Calgary got beat by our skill and mental toughness. San Jose probably doesn't even know why they lost it yet. If Anaheim lose this series it is probably because of our resiliency and coaching (noone would argue Babcock's brilliance last game) Not by Wings being opportunistic
