I know few ducks fans here are knowledgeable On TV, majority of what I've heard/seen were - cheering when it was shown that holmstrom was laying down on ice bleeding - big boos when Nied got 5 min and game misconduct - no cheer or whatsoever when holmstrom was helped to dressing room - and of course thrown objects on ice maybe 'some' fans did show class ... I woudln't know I wasn't there anyway I don't want to dwell on what happened last night too much. Idiot was handed suspension and the revenge is best served on ice.

I don't know about ice surface but I do know that Ducks fans' display of poor sportsmanship last night was really something. IMO there were very very few ducks fan who knew hockey and what the word 'class' means.

Can't say he played big role in our victory but you could just tell he was going to be a valuable asset to our club in future a playoff game now under his belt, hopefully he will not repeat same mistakes next game.
-
well i'm still waiting to hear from 'everyone' and thanks for respecting our discussion so much being a guest and all

In Buffalo he was THE MAN, in Ottawa he was chased out as quitter. It would be extra sweat if he were to face Sens and win Stanley Cup and possibly Conn Smyth over them. But seriously what Hasek probably wants at this point is to face any of those team next round. Ducks are formidable foes.
-
That is a possibility but highly unlikely to happen because that is just not stevy's way of handling things. even though he was successful in world tournament, he still has many more to learn about how the teams should be run.

Read the rule book, linesman can call penalty after the stoppage if refs missed it. If San Jose scored during that time, it is nullified. I was kinda wondering at first as well but someone on TSN crew took out the rule book and read it off during intermisson show. I'm sure a lot of people here can also point out many calls went unnoticed by refs during that game. But IMO blaming on refs are 'usually' for losers. Stop blaming on your players, GM, coach, refs, NHL, terrorists, universe and what not. When all things are considered, you guys just didn't have it this year against Wings. Next year maybe but in most cases, success just doesn't happen overnight. It usually takes years and years of seasoning.

Beginning of the season I thought Datsyuk had very lilttle leadership quality but watching this playoffs changed my mind. He isn't just one dimensional player who chases for glory. He goes into corner if he has to and always goes back to help defense. He is probably one of the league best at poke check and does not back down from physical side of the game. Anyone saw him push Pronger away last night? I agree that he needs to improve his english skill, I've seen many foreigners who become quite fluent in english in 5 years. However saying he has no leadership is wrong. I can see him wearing 'A' in few years

Anyone noticed Datsyuk is really taking it to another level? Amazing play after play jesus we all knew that he has awesome handling and keen vision but now he is driving hard and doing it at faster speed. the 7 year contract we gave him looks better and better every passing day.

Don Cherry is ok he is an old school canadian who thinks euros are pansies and don't have what it takes to win the Cup. Well, Don, the time is catching up to you real quick. Other than that, I think he has given fair assessments for our team... or any team for that matter. (except leafs) Anyone had pleasure of watching CBC coverage of last years Edmonton series? That was the most gross homer coverage of sporting event I've ever seen. I literally thought they might be giving each other an orgasm every time oilers scored. I watched half the series muted.

the save on penner was so ridiculous that I had a good chuckle out of it great great game by dom, he was razor sharp tonight

JUSTICE SERVED!

roll out the battle drum, it's time to beat the hell out of it! Let's go Wings!

Bert and Lang, if you have any extra gear (and I know you have) it would be a good time to shift it now also Dom has to be rock solid and may need to really standing on his head for few games.

Crosby will sit out the tournament to let a broken bone in his left foot heal. “It would have been a huge thrill for me to play for Team Canada again, especially in Moscow, which is a place I’ve always wanted to play,” he said. A bone was broken in Crosby’s left foot when he blocked a shot in a game about a month ago. He played through the injury to become the youngest player in NHL history to win a scoring title with 120 points (36+84). “It’s been a month. The first two weeks were pretty sore,” he said. “After a couple weeks, it starts to heal and it got a little better after that. It just needs time. “I think it happened when we played Montreal [March 16],” he continued. “It didn’t really affect my play. Maybe the first couple weeks, on the perimeter not blocking shots, but after the first couple weeks, it didn’t have any effect.” ------------------------------------------- I dont read anywhere that Crosby played injury card excuse do you? I love how Avery does his job criticizing crosby who pretty much had to reveal injury for turning down team canada invitation yet he himself disclose injury? Such a masterful job that Avery is doing. If Crosby challenge Avery to fight next season that would be hilarious

I think it actually helped our club in a long term that he left. He is certainly past his prime and maybe we should give our young guns a chance (and look what happened this spring) Maybe he knew this too... whatever, I'll never forget what he has done for our team.

in my opinion, neither team played tight checking defensive hockey. Too much free wheeling, showing off sutff and Spezza line killed Sabres with quick blows.

CTN asks: Can J.S. Giguere continue his strong play against the Red Wings? Magic 8-Ball says: My sources say no. ha ha ha

hm... This was never a prob when Stevy and Shanny was here. we were treated fairly and with respect now I noticed things have changed big time, and its only going to get worse since Ducks rosters are filled with Canadian
-
well.. looks like all the kids left/banned by now oh man, I thought having a game on Friday was good because it meant more rest to our team. but now it is killing me. I think Im gonna start watching Sabre/Sens game tomorrow.
-
they have a good team and good reasons to be cocky and I expect no less from their press. It's their job to sell the game and it's only going be good for hockey if people get more interested in this sport as for some of the fans I've seen here... well some of them lack common sense IMO. They gotta remember this is Red Wings forum filled with enthusiastic Wings fans. We do try to be a good host but when someone comes in and babble how their team is going to steamroll all over us, what do they expect? respect is earned not given, and I think that Wings certainly have done enough in past seasons to merit 'some' respect. We will see what Ducks are really made of soon and if they indeed deserve respect from us. I'm looking forward to this series. Friday can't come soon enough

man i don't live in michigan but it sounds really bad from what I hear just imagine what all those trillions dollars in iraq could have done to revive economy.. well.. i maybe going off topic anyway hopefully ticket prices go down (or stay same at least) for the next round IF we do advance. On TV, JLA certainly seems different from past playoff runs.

Markov is a perfect trooper through and through plus he is a veteran who understands flow of the game and makes relatively safe plays (IMO) However, Vladdy was a special player. he was a predetaor, warrior and top defenseman. We truly missed him.
-
my guess is that they will talk about how canadians in Ducks line up will be too much for us all series long. and when they lose, 'oh how underachieving you guys were, you guys did it to yourselves' all that hoopla.

Look we know Ducks are Very Very good team ok? But we don't go Duck's forum and say we gonna sweep them. (or that is very inapproporiate) It all comes with territory. I know Ducks fans will say nothing other than Ducks victory. and for us, likewise. But if you are being guest to our forum, just know what rammification your post would bring in a baised situation. How come we can't talk about how we gonna sweep Duck's in 4 in our own forum? then where can we talk about it? I'm sorry if I offended you but it just felt ridiculous to me that we have to act totally neutral in our own forum. objectivly speaking I think Ducks are slightly better based on regular season, but we have reasons to be optimistic about this series and I hope Wings sweep them. (not likely tho) ps well I would like to Welcome any respectful Ducks fans with common sense. my words might come off little frosty but writing is not my forte.
