you have too much confidence in GMs ability to make sane decision. The point of RFA an offer sheet is that it is a ridiculous ammount so that player's current club won't match it based on sanity reason. I think there are very capable GMs out there who would do that. I'm dissappointed by Filp/his agent or Holland. This really shouldn't have gone this far especially just after we won the cup.

that sounds like a move only Burke would do IMO he's too slow and Wings don't need a playmaker. He isn't even a good one at that right now Anyway Dallas.. thanx for everything. I don't want to be mean but I'm sure you wouldn't want to end your carrier going back and forth between Grand Rapids and Red Wings. Again thanks for your amazing effort during this playoff.

I must admit, when KH traded Matthias for Bertuzzi, I thought it was the deal of century.
-
Emery, I think, is a very good goalie. I just don't think his style fits our club at all. and to reply to OP, the story is flat out lie. At least I hope so.

at reduced price of course Just something to think about that's all.

wow with morrison being UFA this season, could someone be thinking about reuniting the line again?

I'm interested sort of

If Lowe was any indication, Filp could recieve an offer sheet over 4 mil. Pavelski got like 3.5 per year and he had 5 or so more points than Filp. I don't like this situation at all because I think there are alot of chance someone would do that.

I think everyone in our division will get up for games against us just like this past season but only with more motivation on their side. Conference wise, obviously Dallas and Anaheim are threat to us. Also McLellan's Sharks... although I'm not sold on their D, they got Nabokov. Everyone else will probably be fillers. Let's see.. North West? hm... maybe Oilers? ... nah. I say this time and time again but the biggest challenge will probably be ourselves.

Stuart needs to only look at Fedorov to what happens when Brisson's client follows his money>hockey guidance. Also very very few players perform well when they leave Red Wings. Actually can't think of anyone right now, Fedorov became huge bust everywhere he went (maybe except this season), Hull retired, Bertuzzi, Schneider, Larionov, Shannahan... It should be player who decide his career not agent.

that's why he is writting a stupid column and people who actually know hockey are having fun with Stanely Cup.

good story. it's always nice to read anything about him.
-
really? it sounded like a lot more Wings fans were there than 4 of you. anyway musta been nice. I've met plenty of NHLers but never met Wings players before.
-
much better I sounded like audience gave sound cheers for Nick and Ozzie. However I don't think Nick is made for showbiz

With every passing days, I think the chance of Sundin staying put in Toronto increases. IMO It's good that he wants to make decision now because he would stay in Toronto 99% if he had whole summer to think about.

nah I think Cheli has something left in his tank. true he isn't that great in transition offense and defense but I think he is pretty good in our zone. (although he screwed up a bit during playoffs) It also creates a situation where Ericsson/Meech/Leb/Lil have to earn their spot. Anyway IMO he will serve well as a depth player.

sounds cool and yes we won. It was a wonderful feeling. I guess I could warm up to him a bit. but thinking about him coaching sharks.. I dunno .. I have a feeling I will really really hate him in future.
-
well the thing is I don't care about his situation. I only care about Wings situation. There is no way to figure out if he had put his best effort in the end or not, neither do you. We can only sepeculate about it. You think he gave his all, I think he was being distracted. What should he have done? well for my selfish reason, I think he should have waited till the game was over to prepare for his next job. I was the one made a thread back in Stars series that Avs might be looking at him and he sounded like one to bolt after this season. If someone like me knew that, I'm sure everyone in Wings organization knew it was going to happen. However, I bet none of them thought he was going to call Sharks an hour after our celebration. Or are you saying Holland and Co knew McLellan readied all his resume and interview speech the minute we won? I just think that he could have shown more respect to our club. Just my personal feeling based on selfish/not so selfish reasons I stated above.
-
well.. that was my initial reaction. Anyway I think it's more of my frustration that a coach of that kind of calibre couldn't wait to leave our team/take his promotion. I mean.. 1 hr after celebration? A man doesn't wake up 1 hr after Stanley Cup celebration and think 'you know what I'm gonna give a holler to my pal Dougie Willie in SJ' He obviously thought about it for a long time and planned everything during the Final so that he can pounce on it the minute the series end. I understand his situation and I understand what he did, but it doesn't mean I have to like it as a Wings fan. Call me a bitter one, but I hope he really does have a lot of success. NOT

has anyone read this? http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/06/mc...ed_bread_0.html I'm 100% certain that McLellan spilled every one of our organization secrets to kiss Wilson's butt. I'm also pretty certain that he was thinking about the job interview speech the whole time during the playoff.
-
I'm happy for him but at the same time, I don't like someone who knows so much about our team going to Sharks. If he can get the Sharks going in right direction next season, I will really really hate him.
-
my thought on Kopecky is that he always rushed to make plays this season. He rarely had time to look around him and because he looked to be in such a hurry all the time, his shots weren't that accurate. IMO this playoff run could have really helped Kopecky and slow things down for him. Too bad but he will have to prove himself once again next season.
