I agree, the Red Wings, even back in the day, always had trouble in the first round. If they get back to basics, and play their hearts out ( that means skate fast, and start hitting hard on the forechecks, and making coordinated attacks on the Nashville Net) friday night, then they should be able to get past these players for Nashville. The parity in the league that bothers me the most is the one these so-called referees bring to the game, I for one am absolutely nauseated at their unprofessionalism and inconsistency, so much so, I won't go on.........I would burst out into a string of expletives that this board has never seen before. Words to Wings: Settle down, control the puck, forecheck hard, and get Franzen and Homer in front of the net a lot more than you have.

Here is the 2nd video courtesy of tsn.ca that supposedly changed the ruling on wronger: Link to video: i apologize if someone else already posted this, just thought i would help out here.

I totally agree, I avoid being sarcastic for that reason, and are some posters ever serious, I mean really.....whoaaa. I have also learned you need to spell out all aspects of your post or someone will jump one sentence or even word, take everything out of context, and make a federal case about it. But, I still like em, and its fun to interact with you guys. PS: to the LGWer's that are worried, relax, take it easy, i really believe that the defensive injuries, (cheli's excluded) are being exagerated on purpose to both showcase our young prospects to other teams and their GM's (think HOSSA TRADE GUYS), or whatever other trade has in mind, and they are also being thrown out there for the wings coach's, management, etc. to assess how good they really are at this point). It's just my opinion.

I like Stuart also and as I stated in an earlier post I feel he will be Holland's number one target for a defensemen. PS: I wouldn't rule out Miroslav Satan of the Islanders as a likely pick-up by Holland either.
-
Fedotenko I definitely would like to see coming to the wings, Nagy........ahhh no thanks.Prospal just fits Holland's normal operating mode, veteran, only makes 1.9 mil per year could be had for less on a 2 year extension, and has really improved his two way game this year. On defensemen, I wouldn't rule out Boyle of TB as on his list, not sure myself about him being the best Kenny could do though.
-
I totally agree with you, that was the point of my first post. Leftwinger never responded to my reply that clarified my position. You seem very knowledgeable to me. What do you think of my position that Kenny will most likely trade for PRospal of TB and Stuart of LA? Keep up the good posts.
-
I was really responding to the person I quoted in my post, as far as the original post is concerned, I really question its authenticity........too detailed, when $$'s are mentioned in a rumor for a 2 year contract, sounds fishy too me. Sorry for the confusion and I can understand why you read my post the way you did. If you want to know what I really think will happen read my last paragraph, if unsure, go back and read it again. Cheers!!

Sounds good to me, but what makes you so certain its only Detroit? I personally feel that the sticking point is that Holland would want to have a 1-2 year extension with Detroit locked-up as part of the trade, and that is something Sundin won't probably do. I also think in the back of my mind that most likely Detroit will trade with Tampa Bay for Vinny Prospal and with the KIngs for Stuart. Hossa will go to some team that spends the moon and with Forsberg out of the picture now that could be a lot of teams, but not Detroit. Also, I don't think Sundin will go anywhere.......he will stay in Toronto.
-
For a young, inexperienced goalie, Howard played a very good game, and um............he faced more than 0 shots I believe, but thats ok, we'll teach you how to count later. BTW that's your course after Hockey Analysis 101, which, from what I hear you are failing.

Rafalski out with a groin injury; Quincey called up
northstar replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
I agree that Quincey did alright last year, however, my persional belief is that the Red Wings management is "showcasing him" for a potential trade. I figure Hudler, Quincey, and Kopecky are all on the table to swing whatever deal Kenny can manage. If Detroit gives out any picks they will be 09' picks as part of any package. IMO Players Detroit is most likely to acquire, Prospal-Tampa Bay, Campbell- Buffalo, Fedorov-CBJ, Stuart- La KIngs and believe it or not Afinigenov (sp?)-Buffalo. Again, IMO. Anyone agree? -
Not categorizing anyone, did wing's management want him?, coach?, in numerous articles it was mentioned how numerous wing's fans wouldn't mind his presence on the wings....he is swedish.. big physical wing, puck-handler and scorer, but his health is always mentioned as a catch. I guess your question needs clarification, at least for me, on this forum I have seen mixed emotions about him, if that is what you are driving at. Why take it personally, it is not personal at all. Chill out, and cheers!

I agree, he is, like it or not, exactly the type of defensemen Detroit is looking for and needs. Whether he would be willing to come to the wings is a good question, I have not seen one of the old AV's from the rivalry days come to the wings, it could be Detroit doesn't want them or they don't want to come. Personally, I feel that old rivalry has largely subsided and should be a non-issue now, I say sign him, but only if he really wants to come to Detroit. Its amazing how many Wing's fans would take a healthy Foppa, he was on AV's at that time too, and not want Foote. He is consistent as heal, hits hard, and isn't afraid to mix it up. Get er done Kenny, if he really wants to be a wing.

Was Babs pumping up Sammys image for a reason?
northstar replied to YoungGuns1340's topic in General
Are you a moderator? I sometimes wonder who died and put you in charge of threads? In reply to original poster, I believe Sammy would be good trade bait, and yes, almost all the wings had a bad night. -
I believe your sig is right on......"caustic"......, I agree with you a fair amount of the time, just not how you react to some posters emotional posts with even more emotional posts. Pot calling kettle black isn't it??

Thanks for being courteous in your response to my idea. My idea was to use trade bait, not draft picks, that I honestly believe Holland is very dedicated to not giving up anyway, at least not first rounders. One poster said we could debate this for days, and he is right about that, no question. Isn't that the purpose of a thread, though? I have been reading the "ducks fan forum" and LA Times links to get a feel for what the opposition is thinking, and I concluded that whether Selanne and/or Niedermeyer come back is what is driving Burke absolutely crazy. He knows Penner is a "gem" just not polished enough yet, he wants to win the cup again, one more year with those vets and he stands a good chance, if they get past the wings So, what I was saying was go after him when Burke is against the wall when one of those vets or better yet both decide to come back for one more year. I get the impression Penner is wanting his just due and is very receptive to an offer, especially from a team like the Red Wings. As far as trade bait is concerned, I am not sure who I would want to give up. Thats why appealed to the general forum for ideas. Any ideas, guys and gals???
