Chara and Aucoin have some volatile tempers on the ice but I don't think either of them would deliberately try to hurt someone for no reason.

When Lebda did the low hip check on Langkow late in the game his legs hit the boards hard. THEN he got suckered by Langkow.

I was hoping to be waking up to see a few Calgary suspensions reported...not this. The irony is how important Lilja is to the defense now. Glad to see that he quit whining about ice time and started playing to his capability.

Totally agree that a 30 minute postgame show would be a great idea. The Hi-Def coverage and CBC feeds are good signs that the network is building a bridge to help promote the sport.

IMO the two penalties that put the Wings in 5 on 3 situations were marginal at best. No way those calls should be made in a pivotal playoff game. But at the same time the Wings power play flat out sucked. If you don't score any goals in the 2nd or 3rd period you aren't going to win many games.

The Joe may be the toughest place to play because the arena hasn't seen a renovation of any kind until this season. The visitors dressing room is probably the size of Fraser's changing room.

Barring an unforseen miraculous turnaround, I think its safe to pencil in the Rangers as the first team to advance to the 2nd round. They should hold onto that big lead tonight and no way will they lose 4 in a row to the Trashers.

Actually playoff tickets are 10% cheaper than they were pre-lockout. That said I still think Rounds 1 and 2 are a bit too pricey. As for comparisons to other teams it depends. LA Kings games regular season games are way higher than Wings tickets but last season you could go to a Tampa Bay Lightning 1st round game for $22.

What's even more impressive is how Flip and Huds are producing while getting only 8 minutes of ice/game. Great to those guys contributing!

It was also pretty funny banter between him and Hull during the 1st intermission on NBC. He will always be one of those players you love to hate and wonder what he's going to say next.

I remember it like it just happened yesterday. Watched the game with a group of friends at Mr B's Spectadium in Troy. When the brawl broke out it seemed like it was in slow motion. The entire bar went nuts and we all kept screaming replay after replay. Great stuff but man was I dragging at work the next morning.

Scheids is a bit of a defensive liability but besides Lidstrom he is our only source of offense from the blueline. If Kronwall would have developed more this season I'd be inclined to let him sign elsewhere. That obviously hasn't happened so I think we need Schneids back if the price is in our ballpark.
