I'll be there with the wife and kids tomorrow. This Free Press link has a nice map of the parade route showing some parking possibilities. It also says the mayor will be there...I'm sure he will have to come out with Stevie Y or someone else so he doesn't get unmercifully booed!

It means McCarty will probably be in the lineup and that guarantees the Pens 4 minutes in power play time as a result of his penalties.

Bettman doesn't deserve any credit for the improved schedule. The majority of the GMs voted for the change during the winter meetings.

If Franzen comes back then this is all a moot point. They will keep Helm in the lineup over DMac.

Hopefully Franzen is healthy and ready to go Saturday. After last night's performance there's no doubt that Mac needs to come out. Every shift on the ice either resulted in a penalty or giveaway. He also looks like he's shying away from giving out or taking a hit. The Pens will skate circles around him...even big Laraque will make him look like he's standing in quicksand.

Hard to argue with changing the lineup since these players have gotten you on this roll but I think Malts brings more to the table than DMac. Maltby can give you key minutes on the penalty kill so some of the more skilled players can get some rest during those situations.

Wings brass has traditionally refrained from negotiating contracts during the playoffs. Maybe its more of a rule for player negotiations but who knows. Did this get out now to make the Ottawa rumors go away? We'll have to wait and see.

Sorry dude, there was also a huge race riot in the D in 1943. Things also got pretty wild after the Tigers won the Series in '84. Its that infamous picture of the dude holding the Tigers pennant next to a burning police car that most people remember. We are all well behaved after our Stanley Cup wins...thats because the biggest celebrations take place in downtown Royal Oak.

It probably was the wrong call, but there was so much s*** that went against us during the season...ie. phantom goaltender interference calls, puck should have been blown dead for hitting the netting...that its evening out now. Seems like those breaks used to go against us during previous postseason games.

Agreed...Hockeytown is good atmosphere for a drink before and after the game but the food is way overpriced for the quality. Cheli's tends to get packed pretty early sometimes so get there with plenty of time to spare. You could also eat down in Greektown and walk over to the Old Sheleleh and take the craziest shuttle you'll ever experience.
