I couldn't pull the trigger on that trade now. Kronner is finally healthy and living up to his potential. I'm in agreement with all of you that the asking price is too high for a rental player.

Probably safe to say the first 3 lines will get shuffled quite a bit over the next two nights.

An awesome deal for both sides! I just hope the deal doesn't make him complacent. Look at the dividends his offseason conditioning is paying this season. Keep it up Ozzie!

I'm far from a McSorley fan. I might have him ranked a bit high but from the late 80's - early 90's he took on everyone. Only reason I don't have Wilson or Playfair on my list is that neither one got into more than 15 fights or so in one single season. They hardly have any blemishes on their records but they weren't dropping the gloves as often as alot of the other enforcers.
-
Thats a pretty stacked list. Hard to argue with any of those picks. Here's my top ten: 1. Bob Probert 2. Marty McSorley 3. Clark Gillies 4. Dave Brown 5. Joe Kocur 6. Dave Schultz 7. Terry O'Reilly 8. Tony Twist 9. Tie Domi 10. Chris Nilan Honorable Mention - Larry Robinson. He didn't fight enough to get a spot, but when you pissed him off he never lost.

Article touching on this subject from today's Detroit Free Press: Draper, McCarty reconnect

I'm glad to see he's trying to get himself back into the game. His NHL days may be over but he can still make an honest living toiling around in the other hockey circuits for at least a few more years. No way would I sign him to take a spot away from anyone on this roster. What kind of a message does that send to players like Downey and Ellis that have absolutely busted their ass to make the team? Why tinker with a team thats doing so well right now?

Foote also put a pretty good beating on Tootoo earlier in the week. I'll have to write this down in my calendar, first and probably last time I've cheered on Adam Foote and the Blackhawks in the same week.

What a great way to ring in the New Year. It will be interesting to see the details of the deal.
-
You know...I used to feel that way too, but watching Drake the last 2+ weeks I think he's really improved and is much more valuable than Downey. He's been contributing to the penalty kill and has seen his minutes increase. For whatever reason that full face shield really messed up his game and thats when he looked lost on the ice.
-
Definitely stinks having Homer out. With Downey in we have a possibility of a rematch vs. Fedoruk. He was lucky Boogard wasn't dressed last time they played (and admitted it in the pregame interview).

He had a 'drama queen' reputation while he was here. I'm sure that hasn't changed.

I clearly remember Don Cherry replying 'Thats a bunch of bulls***' a few years back.

Center ice at the Joe says it all!

Don't know how much your going to get on this topic since its been beaten to death but I don't see any of the hints you speak of that point to Darren coming back and his decline goes further back than just last year. I'd rather remember him for what he was in his prime here, not the shell of himself that he is today.

Looking forward to watching this game against the Habitantes! Kind of wish it was a Saturday night game instead so the real Montreal rowdies would be at the arena. 5-3 Wings with the last goal being an empty-netter.

Former Wing goalie Joey MacDonald got into a scrap in an AHL game last night. Bois goes right after McDonald and eventually Rullier comes flying in to save him. Pretty funny.
