I just read on TSN.com that the Wings are listed as the lead runners to acquire Bertuzzi. I wonder if there is any truth to that.

I just read the report on NHL.com. It said: "The Red Wings certainly paid a fairly stiff price for Calder, sending the speedy Williams to Chicago. Just 26, Williams already has 233 NHL games under his belt. He was also a part-time player during Detroit's run to the 2002 Stanley Cup. Last season, Williams topped 20 goals for the first time, netting 21 goals and 58 points in his first season as a full-time NHLer" ... I just though that was kind of funny, considering how people here felt about him. I don't really feel like we paid a stiff price for Calder.

Yeah, I liked WIlliams too, as a person. But ever since his concussion, he has just looked uninspirated and lazy. Now whether it was due to the concussion or not, I don't know. But what I do know, is that he has really been struggling this year. Even when Cleary and Lang were racking up the points, Williams really wasn't.

Just to get Williams off the point is definitely good enough for me.

So it is official? Even though I don't really know much about Calder, I am just happy to get rid of Williams.

I really only thought that the the first goal Ozzie let in was soft. The second one, Lang just waved his stick, giving no real effort. Ozzie pretty much held us in the game, especially during the first period.
