Well said He works hard, reliable on defense (who was on the ice protecting the lead in game 6 of the finals). Oh, FYI someone who "never passes" and is a "puckhog" are pretty much the same thing. As for being the first one off the ice, he is usually the first one off the bench and plays a lot of minutes, giving 100% everyshift (which is why he shifts tend to be semi-shorter).

Obviously I am a huge Dan Cleary fan. I haven't been to thrilled with his minus rating and lack of offense. But he works his ass off and is a very good penalty killer. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I think yours is very harsh. I don't think his play has been "that bad" to the point that he deserves to be called a "puck hog" or a "cherry picker".

Last year I bought a Cleary jersey from the NHL Shop and when I received it the stitching was done horribly for both the numbers and his name. I eventually got it refunded, but that was after calling customer service, than talking to some manager and then having him get the return approved. It was a mess and it was all their fault that the jersey was made so poorly. It tooks weeks before I got my money back.

Overall, the Wings are getting better; slowly but surely. But I am slightly worried about this defense. Usually the Wings strong point, it is the weakest part of our game. I am sure it will get better, but these close games are going to give me a heart attack.

Yeah!!! It was a smart move to have him sit out against the a Rangers. It gave his groin a couple more days rests... I hate those pesky groins injuries.

Nice presentation. What an awesome moment for the President to say your name and recognize what you did. Lidstrom looked very nervous, but then again, who wouldn't be in that situation.

What I am pleased with is that, while the team isn't looking great, I am seeing a considerable improvement game-by-game. I know we all expected Hossa to come in here and have instant chemistry. It will take time. But it will come. A win is a win. BTW, I am loving this free NHL Center Ice preview

Wow, that isn't embarassing or anything How can't you know which way the cup goes? Even if you aren't a hockey fan, how don't you know that something usually doesn't have the skinnier part as the bottom, should be common sense.

As much as I want it to be Leino, it will probably be Downey or Mac, just because they bring a different aspect to the team (i,e. fighting).

I have always disliked her, but after that I hate her. I mean if she really felt that, she should have (a) kept it to herself or (b) had the balls to back it up. Except she went into damage control when the Detroit area got news of it, saying the parade proved that Detroit is hockeytown. Seriously, she is awful in all aspects of her coverage.

I am throwing in $20 bucks to hit Buttman and $10 to come close... and if you happen to hit Crosby, that is worth $10. That would be well worth the money to see.

The penguins need to start looking at themselves instead of calling ozzie a diver, saying we are obstructing, the refs are not giving them the calls, ect. Those sound like excuses to me. If the pens don't start looking at themselves, this series will be over in 4. It all starts with their coach and their captain and right now, both are looking for excuses instead of leading.
