Sure was. And he was by far the best defensemen. Although i will give props to lilja. He didn't play too bad either.

The funny thing is that the flames didn't play that well. They were the benificiaries(sp) of some turnovers and bad calls.

I take comfort in the fact that the Wings didn't play that well and hardly lost. It wasn't like we played awesome and still lost. Then I would be slightly worried. They will come back in game four and play with a vengence.

The only thing the Wings need to change (other than special teams) is getting Samuelsson off the ice and into the press box. Put Hudler out there for heavens sake!

I am not one to complain about the refs, but I am frustrated. But the stats don't lie: outside of the high stick (which was obvious) the Wings had two powerplays to Calgary's six. They weren't that disiplined.

The Wings 5 v 5 has been great. Their special teams have been mediocre at best. We all know what they need to work on at practice.

This game was such a rollercoaster. We went from losing to tied to winning to tied to losing. I guess thats the playoffs though. I am not so sure I am crazy about having 3 different threads for one game. I am sure it must be done to accomadate the number of posts. But it is slightly annoying.

I guess I expected a loss today. And you can't expect to win when 3 out of 4 lines don't play that well... on the bright side, I do have tickets to game 5!
