Hockey gods smileth upon Covenant... AGAIN!! I'll be in attendance again tonight. This will make about 7 games for me this year, a record. I like the perspective from the suite too, even though it's way up there you get a nice idea of how the plays start/evolve. (free beer and food doesn't hurt either).. Why I didn't ask around the office before the New Year is beyond me. I tell you though, one of the attorney's here mentioned to me @ the Nashville game that they rarely fill the suite, and that's when I offered my attendance. Easy to give away one suite ticket, as most want to bring family, etc.

What is that FSN replay they repeat ad nauseum in commercial breaks? That one wrister vs. San Jose last year, what the hell happened to that kind of accuracy!

Tootoo pushes the envelope too much. He'll get his, but until then you can see what the NHL thinks of his play, 5 game suspension.. nuff said. Some are sad he won't be in the lineup for Thursday's game?? Personally, I'd rather he not injure a Red Wing a week before the playoffs start.

He has sucked of late, but let's not forget: 18-30: 48 pts., +13.

Anyone else think the Bert/Zetts/Dats line could possibly be (chemistry aside) one, if not the best line in the NHL!! Woo-Hoo!!! Playoffs can't get here soon enough for me.

Wow! That is crazy.. I'm moving this coming weekend so I think I forgot the incredible opponents we've drawn for this week! I know we've been playing like dog doo for a while, but we're spoiled here.. 101 pts. ain't all bad. I agree, this is a great tough test we're facing-- all possible playoff opponents! Giguere is a great goalie, yes.. but Bryz ain't a shabby backup. Anyone know if Osgood is starting? The Ducks are a rough group, but have also been playing inconsistently the last little while.. we know the Preds through and through, but Mr. Foppa is back now. Dallas? Meh, I've never ever ever liked them, and I don't see them as a big-time opponent for some reason. But, on the other hand, beats the s*** out of next weeks games. Hopefully the seeding will be figured out by next week and we can rest some guys vs. the Bj/Bj/Hawk/Hawk group of games.

No s***.. I was also thrilled with Huselius' winning goal, and Morrison's shortie GWG the other night too.. please.

I feel fine, but to constantly s*** on one player because it's basically "fashionable" is ridiculous. Yeah, most are scrappier/faster, etc. than Bobbert, but stats aren't that bad when you look at it are they: Lang: 18-30: 48, 73 games played, +13 Cleary: 20-16: 36, 63 games played, +3 I've never stuck up for Sammy too much either.. but Lang is a gifted finisher. People always get extra-special pissy because he makes so much $$.. well, that's out of our hands now isn't it.

As usual, NFM speaks words of wisdom. Yes, it's been excruciatingly .. BORING to watch, but our D and goalies have held their ground for the most part.. once the lines start clicking again, we're good to go. Just visualize all of our players healthy, with at least 4 games all together again, and I'd say we stack up against anyone in the playoffs.. honestly. Dream matchup is still those pesky Senators in the SCF!

Yawn, it's quite humorous when the entire team is playing like dog-doo to single out someone. I suppose it's natural, but also infantile.

Love that quote. Yes, I believe we're going to face the Sharks, which will be a ***** of an opponent.. if we don't get our s*** together quick the Blues could probably give us all we could handle in a 7 game series.

He seemed very slow to me, but that was mostly the first period. I admire Babcock for throwing him out there in the shootout. Nice move too, just a touch high, EASILY beat the goalie. It's just comforting to see that huge dude in a Wings jersey.. When he was mucking a bit in the corners, or even just skating past Homer, he just seemed enormous! And I don't think Homer is real small either.. (not too sure) *all you regulars, forgive my GDT-bashing please, I was pissed off after the game, naturally.

"leeched off Calder" good one. Figures that the lone goal the blow jobs scores deflects off of Lang's stick, and I knew he'd take the brunt of the angst tonight, but get real people... you're using an all too convenient scapegoat for an altogether mediocre performance by the entire team.

I'm sorry hockeycrazy, the Wings don't play any worse in front of Ozzie than Hasek.. of course, just my opinion. They're just playing like s*** in front of both goalies the past week or so.

Oh dear, another doom and gloom. I can't believe you're faulting Lang/Samuelsson.. look deeper my friend. Sammy was solid the entire game, Lang -- eh, so-so, like usual. anyhow, just a few thoughts on the overall performance:

So what actual time does the game start in your neck of the nape.. err.. um, corner of the globe. I have a ton of buddies in my *ahem Music-sharing communities over in Sweden, etc. and I always forget. (oh, game-related-talk necessary: Wings fall behind early, as usual-- but can overcome tonight!)

This is a perfect opponent for Big Bert to get his feet wet with - underachieving, but at times dangerous. If things go smooth he'll have two games under his belt before Monday's HUGE contest vs. da Ducks!

Cheers to THAT~! 12-pack of Molson chillin' in the fridge for this huge event! Even invited some buddies over, weekday be damned, I can be groggy in the cubicle tomorrow NO problem!
