Sheesh! Trade deadline day is a stressful experience for some LGW'ers it seems. Take 'er easy folks. -

hmm... even sounds shrewd now! Good job Kenny. He'll score the winner in the shootout. -

I like the sound of this! Thanks for some optimism, I don't think stats alone can tell the entire story on a team like the Flyers. -
I would rather play Dallas, but to be honest I think we can compete with anyone this year. The difference, as someone pointed out is in goal. Our team defense is amazing, and Hasek in the playoffs cranks it up even another notch. I know we'll add someone at the deadline, likely the expense will be Hudler?? Anyhow, I'm not taking that into consideration. Yes, San Jose/Anaheim/Calgary are physical teams, but I think we've done alright against physical teams this year. Yes, I watched the Philly game last week, that was more of an aberration than anything. Dunno guys/gals, have a good feeling. I'd really like it if the Preds and Wings met in the WCF, maybe crank this up into an actual rivalry. Then, fairy tale ending would be a 7 game SCF against Brodeur's Devils.. wow, that'd be kick ass.

.. .. Alright, I'll pretend I didn't read that. Anywhoo... my compatriot here @ work thinks the 13 game home streak, Khabibulin's awful record 1-7-1 against us of late has ominous pretentions and doesn't bode well.. I, on the other hand expect excellence! And how bout some second line scoring. J-Willy nets one, finally and maybe Cleary. Line one will dazzle as usual, Dats/Homer score.. All in all: Wings 5, Hawks 2 (must keep them to 2, Marty is creeping up on Dom again for league lead in GAA)

Cuteness backfired I thought back in January when we played there. Something like 11,000 showed? They oughta pull their head out of their collective asses and charge normally, that way a sold-out arena. It'd do Wayne some good to hear his team booed most of the game, at least the franchise would be making money.

"one man offense" ?? We'll get some nice goals tonight on Cujo, although he's been playing well~! I say our Finnish Wing takes a horrendous penalty on his first shift (15 minutes into the game)... Schneider looks up as the penalty expires and catches Flip zooming to the net.. fancy-pants top-shelf backhander works! I know, I did them last night with Flip all game in 2K7.

"People don't underSCHtand.." Complete PR move, although we loathe the Preds here, why wallow in Philly... I don't think the Preds will be able to sign him long term after this rental period though, thoughts?

Yo.. 1st, let's thank Mr. Manny Legace for shutting out the Preds And.. w/Markov back, I guess we are a much better team.. as witnessed by the Dallas game. He must play kind of a quietly good hockey, as I don't really notice him a lot... yes, he's scrappier than most of our team, but that isn't exactly saying a whole lot. I guess it's good that he isn't noticed, because he doesn' t make too many mistakes either. I say.. Wings throttle the Nagy-less Yotes, 5-3. Dom back in net finally? Or Ozzie in back to backs?

Lang @ $3.9m is an overpay, but he does bring something to our team... turovers. Seriously, he can score, the playoff game is a bit different, and he seems to thrive in it. If he is shipped to N.Y., I'd like to get a player in return as well as a pick if possible. I know nothing of how they are done, but I'd hate to give Lang up for nobody and just picks; regardless of whom we may acquire elsewhere.

Let's hope tonight's game is a little more balanced. More like the first 50 minutes, NOT the last 10. I've never seen the Flames set up so many nice plays in a row, seriously, those 3 goals were beautiful. LOL Anyhow, Flyers will take plenty of penalties, which will allow us to tune-in our PowerPlay.. We've not been great on the road, so this is a good test before going to Dallas.. which is always a *****. I agree with above poster, it's GREAT to have back to back Wings nights! Will have some withdrawals after Wednesday though, another 2 day respite! Wings: 5 Flyers: 4 Good battle of goalies... not!

Unfortunately, you are so right. But, as my buddy from Ottawa suggested to me the other day.. it doesn't seem to matter when teams outmuscle the Wings early on. They hit and hit and hit, and by the 3rd they're exhausted. Then the Wings tend to pull away ... as has been the trend lately.

Tough as nails is right! But broken ribs would be kind of tough to play through, even for him. Lilja didn't embarass himself TOO badly last little stint.. But obviously (no offense intended), but if you make Chelios look like a Norris candidate, you ain't all that good.

Come on boys/girls! Join me at LetsGoBlues.com to read their hilarious anti-Wings posts and stick up for our boyz! Usually something akin to: Wings suck and they're ugly. Joey will play well. Markov looked seriously hurt, anybody have word on that? If not, you know what that means, Mr. Lilly-farts back in the lineup, and JUST when we got him to the bench with Schneider's return, damnit. Oh well, the effects of Mr. Murray are wearing off I think, and they are showing their true colors. Still a couple years from a playoff team I'd say. As has been our pattern lately, I'll look for Stempniak to score early on Joey, maybe we're even down 0-2 going into the 2nd. No matter, whatever Babcock chooses to say before the game clearly isn't as good as when he tears into his team for playing lethargically. I'll say Wings 7, Blues 4. High scoring affair! Zetts, Dats, Huds, Lids (200) ,Lang X 3. Who cares for the Blues.

Great point BetterRed thandead. First rounder is a bit steep, but what a potential force he could be in the playoffs. Imagine someone running at Pavel or Hank in the playoffs now.. whatever he's done in the past, although OBVIOUSLY despicable, if he brings us that much closer to another Cup, AND he's just a rental.. I'd go for it.

WHOA!!! I dunno much about Biron, but I'll go out on a limb and say that at this point in his career, a bit more viable an option than Eddie. Hopefully this won't put a stranglehold on any moves we'll be able to make at next years deadline though.

I don't think so. He (from what I can remember) is VERY pricey, and perhaps a core component to their ability to score.

Eklund at it again: Shanny back, Giguere to Detroit?

but he's lazy and he sucks! (sorry, old ass avatar) -
Probably the best post I've read on this site, period.

*I like the idea. Komisarek as well? I think Zednik wasn't great this year. Good time for a change of scenery. He hits (also takes dumb penalties), and would be able to chip in 20 goals easy on the Wings. Buddy in Ottawa says: (take that for what it's worth, he obviously hates the Habs) Why that likely won't happen: Lang is exactly the type of player they hate in Montreal, because he looks (is??) lazy, with all his skill. On the CWs side, trust me, you don't want Zednik. In one word, a bum, no ifs. Both aging, slower types that everybody will be trying to unload in the new-style game (can you spell Smolinski?)

One trade rumor making the rounds these days involves the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens. The Wings, who are deep in natural centers but short on scoring wingers, would deal veteran Czech center Robert Lang to the Habs for Slovakian wing Richard Zednik. Montreal could use Lang as the second-line center alongside Alex Kovalev, since the two were great together in Pittsburgh several years ago. Detroit would also save a little in the salary department, which would help them combat the salary-cap crunch. This one makes sense. *I tend to agree. Komisarek as well?
